Ok, so I take it I apparently restored to 1.1.2 or some variation thereof.

Ok, so a few days ago, apparently the day everything was updating, I chose to restore my phone because it was running sluggishly. So, the plan was to restore, jailbreak, and unlock my phone then start fresh. Well, now I'm stuck with what appears to be 1.1.2, MF 04.02.13_G, but instead of the Earth in the back there is the "Connected to iTunes" icon. I've got a Windows PC and before I dig myself any deeper of a ditch I want to ask the pros here to lend me a hand. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to what I need as far as applications, firmware packages, iTunes version, etc. I'm not looking for an immediate response, but it's my only phone and I'd like to get it up and running again soon. Thanks.

Let's start with downgrading the firmware to 1.1.1 (so download the firmware file from i.unlock.no) and work from there

Is that through Safari? Sorry, but I'm stuck with the same limitations as when I first unboxed it, minus the possible exploits.

Not even close buddy! haha

Try this

Sorry. So if I follow this step-by-step I can get back to a locked 1.1.1 state? (I briefly skimmed it, sorry, didn't analyze it.) I wasn't expecting such a quick response, I need to get some work done and get some sleep. Thanks for the quick response.

No problem. Give it a good read and let me know if you need any help!

Thanks, will do. I decided to give it a shot, hell, it beats work any day. :P Smooth sailing thus far.

Edit: Ok, not so great. I guess at this step I need to get my phone out of Recovery mode. They say you just give it a minute with Independence, but I'm lost over here with my PC.

More help for you:

they seem to be able to get 1.1.2 iphones unlocked by downgrading to 1.0.2 then downgrading the base band and then re-upgrading to unlock

Well, I'm kind of already stuck mid process here. Besides, at first glance it seems they're using Macs.

What process are you in right now?

Posted by: ll Dylan ll

Well, I installed the firmware, but my phone's still stuck in Recovery mode.

Posted by: MacGeek15

From the first link I gave you:

2. Now, lets get started. Firstly, connect your 1.1.2 iPhone to the your computer and open iTunes. Press and hold the home and power buttons until the iPhone goes into recovery mode. In iTunes, hold the shift key(windows) or the key(mac) and press the "Restore" button, browse to the iPhone 1.1.1 Firmware file you downloaded earlier and press ok

Near the end iTunes will give you a "1015" error. Ignore this. The iPhone will restart to the 1.1.1 restore screen with the iTunes logo on it. Run the AppTapp Installer (Windows) or iNdependence (MAC) to the the iPhone out of restore mode and back to the activation screen.

Windows AppTapp v0.92: http://www.nullriver.com/~adam/AppTappInstaller.exe
Mac iNdependence v1.2.5: http://independence.googlecode.com/...ence_v1.2.5.dmg
Note:In order to kick the phone out of that mode I just had to launch iNdependence version 1.2.5 and wait a minute or so

Posted by: ll Dylan ll

Yes, I could clearly read that. When I load up AppTapp it asks me for my firmware, but it's outdated and none apply.

Posted by: MacGeek15

Use iBrickr then to kick it out of restore mode.
Or find a Mac.

Posted by: ll Dylan ll

Thank you, iBrickr did the trick!

Ok, well I'm accomplished everything so far, but I'm still having difficulties unlocking it. Well, I ran the new anySIM, it told me it was sucessful, but there's no service. I remember reading something about the new firmware and "No Service". I'm going to pass out soon, so I'll probably get to this tomorrow, but if anyone knows what's up and would like to lend a hand that would be great. Thanks again MacGeek. Goodnight.

let us know how it goes, good luck!

I read from another site that you need to downgrade to 1.0.2 and then downgrade your baseband and then upgrade to 1.1.1. Then you can do the simple 1.1.1 jailbreak and unlock.
