Hi Guys -

I was just helping someone unbrick their iPhone, and after using this method a few times successfully, I think I've come across what might be a jewel of a tool for getting out of thoes stubborn 0049 IMEI situations.

Now, I know that a lof of you are past this already, but it might help the straggling few who can't seem to get their original IMEI back.

Anyhow, this amazing tool is called...

...ANYSIM 1.02!!!!!

Basically, the idea is to use AnySIM 1.02 to re-unlock your 1.0.2 iPhone once you've already downgraded your baseband (and obviously still have the crappy IMEI). After this is done, you have you original IMEI, and can run a revirginize script.

I sort of fell onto this by accident, but it's helped me get original IMEI numbers back many times.

Cheers,

L.

I'm just giving this a bump - more and more 1.0.2 owners are deciding to make a a jump to the new firmware (and rightly so, as it is MUCH SUPERIOR!).

Some, will inevitably brick their phones and get much loved (in a distant shady uncle that nobody really wants around kind of way) the the 0049 IMEI.

This will fix it....Never know when AnySIM 1.02 will come in handy!!!

Here's the basic high-level steps...

Status: iPhone @ (1.1.1/1.1.2 firmware, 4.01/4.02 baseband, bad IMEI)
1. downgrade firmware
Status: iPhone @ (1.0.2 firmware, 4.01/4.02 baseband, bad IMEI)
2. downgrade baseband
Status: iPhone @ (1.0.2 firmware, 3.14 baseband, bad IMEI)
3. Unlock/Fix with AnySIM 1.02
Status: iPhone @ (1.0.2 firmware, 3.14 baseband, GOOD IMEI
4. Virginize

...And you're done!

If demand calls, I will probably write a more detailed guide guide for this...
