I'm having a problem with the w580i

There will be times when I take it out of my pocket and it logged onto Media Net.

Last month i got charged $28 in usage charges because of it. Is there any way I can just turn that off?

You can turn it off but you will also turn off text messaging since both go with each other. You should lock the keypad before you put it back in your pocket or change the setting for auto lock if theres one.

My w580 goes into autolock mode when I close the slider ... it's almost immediate. If autolock is on it shouldn't go into medianet while in your pocket.

I have found something that may be the problem....I carry my 580i in my case that has a magnetic flap...whenever my phone touches this magnetic strip my phone unlocks. As soon as I take it out it automatically locks again. It does it every time I put it in....it can be blacked out from non use and as soon as I put it in it unlocks itself. I don't know what you can do about this. I had to call AT&T to have them disable the media net function. I too was having that problem.

The magnets might cause the flip to open enough to turn off the lock.

Could there be a firmware update that could solve this you think? I know a lot of people keep their phone in a pocket but a lot of peeps don't and those pouches with the magnetic closers are mainstream.... I think this could be a widespread problem that would need to be addressed. What say y'all?
