Baseband Downgrade ? fro 1.1.2

Ok, I have read many post, but at the end of the day, I am not sure if anything is still accomplishable once the firmware has been upgraded to 1.1.2 and we are not an ATT customer.

Here is the scenario:

Error stating Apple repair needed. It was suggested to upgrade to 1.1.2 which fixed the error, but left the phone unusable. Then I was successful in downgrading to 1.0.2, however the the Modem Firmware is now at 4x 'G'.

In reading the threads it appears as if you can downgrade to 3x, but still not have a workable phone. Does that mean you downgrade to 3x then update to 1.1.1 and start fresh or is it just not possible. Perhaps I am confused. Unfortunately, I used AnySim vs. IPSF and the unlock has been wiped.

I guess if there is a question in here...Is it possible to get this phone working again or do I need to wait for something that supports 1.1.2? If so, what would the ideal steps be? (i.e.) Downgrade to 3x, then upgrade to 1.1.1, activate and unlock, etc.

I think I can figure out the processes, just not the order or whether it will work at all.

I would very much apprecaite some help or input.
