I unlocked some iPhones that were week 44 yesterday and they were 1.1.1
I think you're good prior to Week 45

How do you know what week yours is?

Posted by: HKP7M13

Nevermind, found it. Week 44. From what's written above I take it that's a good thing?

i just need to make sure its ganna be 1.1.1 and can unlock it fast fast at my gf house. i see her twice a month. and if i spend a day trying to reflash it from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 and then try to jailbreak it and bla bla bla. she will probably kill me

i want the least amount of complications

Dang, bad news for me, I am picking up two week 45 iPhones tomorrow.

Do you think I could walk into an AT&T store and exchange them for two week 44 iPhones? The Apple Store is a looong drive from Canada, but there's an AT&T store pretty close to the PO Box I'm picking mine up at...

If they're originally bought through AT&T, maybe you can stop by the AT&T store and exchange them. If they're bought from Apple's online store, you might have to trek the distance to the Apple Store (AT&T won't accept any Apple Store iPhone purchases)...

Damn. Thanks for the tip though!

Well, it sure looks like week 45 is going to be 1.1.2 guaranteed, so I guess I had better print a map for the extra 90 miles to the Apple Store, and print off my invoice!

What do you think the odds are of an Apple Store letting me swap two just-received iPhones for two others with older weeks on the serial number? Anyone tried this?

Bought an iphone last night from the Apple store, it was 1.1.1, so they still have some in stock, atleast in my area.

I promised I would not mess with it.. 5 min out of the box and it was jailbroken heh.. She yelled at me... but the 20% discount on our ATT bill subdued some of that pain :P

Look at the fourth and fifth digit of the serial number. That will tell you the production week.
