so,
if i decide to buy an iphone brand new, do i HAVE TO ACTIVATE VIA ITUNES AND SUBSCRIBE TO THE IPHONE PLAN? ie, if i hack the iphone, can i just put in my current AT&T sim card and use the iphone with its full capabilities?

sorry, i did search and read and did got some info. sounds like this is possible since t-mobile users can use the phone. i just wanted to make sure before i blow $450 on a phone. of course, main reason here is i don't really need to surf the web on my phone so i don't want to pay an extra $20/month.

if you unlock the iPhone, you just pop in your existing SIM and you're done.
