would you like to know how you can play "nintendo" games on your T-mobile Dash Phone?

well according to the howard forum rules i cannot give you the link but you can email me and i'll give you step by step instructions.

here it is..

1.) first make a folder on your Storage Card called "PocketNester"
2.) go to http://dashapps.googlepages.com/
3.) scroll down at the bottom were it says "GAMING"
4.) click PocketNester to Download
5.) click Tgetfile to Download

note: they both have to be in one folder. the folder you created called Pocketnester.

6.) install tgetfile first. install it on storage card "always on storage card" ok
7.) install PocketNester Plus on storage card.

8.) on the Pocket Nester Folder make a new folder Called ROMS

9.) go to http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com/DashApps.htm scroll down to Pocketnester plus i believe its the 15th one.

10.) click under were it says NES Roms Files

11.) click on ALL ROMS download it to the ROMS folder or move it there

12.) install it on storage card.

13.) you should be set.

TO PLAY

*now to play you go to you start / file explorer /
*click menu
*press 8 for storage card
*go to your pocket nester folder
*click on the pocket nester emulator
*click file
*press 1 for open roms
*ok
*select you rom or game
*click file
*press 3 for resume

---- TO SET YOU CONTROL CONFIGURATION GO TO OPTIONS BEFORE YOU CLICK RESUME K.

---- COMMENT MY PAGE SO OTHER WOULD KNOW THAT I DID HELP YOU K THANKS

I tried this step by step exactly as you instructed but when I go to open file in PocketNesterPlus it reads an error message saying "Can not find tgetfile.dll."
I've been trying to get this to work for hours but same ol error message. I need help. Many Thanks.

you need to keep the tgetfile in the same folder as the pocketnester plus. so when you open it, it can read the tgetfile.

go to mobile.surrealnetworks.com and go to the "applications for the dash" page. scroll down and download pocketnesterplus and install it. they also have the rom files on that site and you shouldnt need tgetfile... i dont have it

Thanks a million. Finally did it. Not sure exactaly what I did different but I just deleted and reinstalled it till it worked. On the rom folder that I created for rom downloads, still had an install icon after I downloaded it so it wouldn't open roms that way, but I just individually downloaded the roms I wanted and it worked for me. I finally can enjoy. Thanks again.

that's weird, it didnt do that with me. as soon as i downloaded all roms i install it and opened it and all the roms where there. its proubably because when you open the rom option you need to find the folder first. in my case it was already their so i didnt need to search it. reason for beaing set was because my first rom was the mario 3 rom.

the game runs for me but i cant configure the bottons i tried going to the menu where u can choose the buttons but it still dont work

First Post...

*now to play you go to you start / file explorer /
*click menu
*press 8 for storage card
*go to your pocket nester folder
*click on the pocket nester emulator

Follow Same Steps Until you click the emulator "Pocket NesterPlus"

*click on Option
*select 5 for Controllers...

now you should be in the controller screen. be careful in what you select and type.

if you click the rectangle to the left it will promp you "Press Key" thats when you select your own buttons.

if you mess up and dont want to press the button then click on the rectangle to your right which is "delete".

Example - My button configurations are.
A - Del
B - L
Select - Q
Start - P
Up - E
Down - C
Left - S
Right - F
Menu - is my center button "silver" on my d-pad

Whever I pause the game, I can never resume.
It just says "Tap screen to resume", and well I can't really do that.
Anyone know how to fix this? I don't want to have to restart whenever I want to pause it for a second.

no dont restart. when you play and pause the game then press the same pause button you pressed to pause it. if your in the home tab where it says "File" on the bottom left and "Options" on the botton right then simply click on "File" and "3" for Resume. i usually need to resume the game everytime i load to play thats how i know. let me know if it worked for you.

can i get these to work on a touchphone, cause there aint many buttons except on the screen itself. or are there games designed for the htc touch.

i've seen forums that you can do it on the touch screen phones but thats out of my reach. the only phone i have is the Dash but i can give you a site of were i can recall them talking about it. go to www.modaco.com and search it by the type of phones. if its the t-mobile wing or t-mobile blackberry then it should be the same i think cause its all smart phones.

Wow thats weird. i have one that does that to me unfortinately i forgot which one it was but let me load my Roms on to a file share whebsite and give you further instructions k. i'll try and help you out. all the ones you named, they all work for me. my email is on the first post. email me and i'l let you know where to go from there

cannot find what? TgetFile?! on the second post theirs a website where you can dowload it from. if thats not the case then let me know what type of error message it is. if it is the TgetFile then make sure its on the same folder the PocketNesterPlus is on.

Hey Onak, thanks a bunch for the great instructions. I kept getting problems with the "game paused....touch screen to continue" and I think the problem was from using the silver "select" button as the menu key in the controller settings...I replaced that with "space" and it now works fine. I would also point out a nice collection of ROMS at:

hey onak, couple of questions.

1. PocketNester 0.7 vs PocketNester Plus 0.9, which do you recommend?

2. I'm using PocketNester 0.7 right now. Whenever I start the program and open roms, it searches through all my folders for roms. This takes forever. Does tgetfile help with this? I dont think I have it installed. Is there anyway to set the program to open files from a specified folder?

Has anyone gotten Pocketsnes or any other snes emu to run successfuly? I've downloaded about 10 different versions of pocketsnes (3 different builds) and even another snes emu called J something... nothings working for me. I've got a dash running Win. Mobile 5.02.

Someone help.

I'm trying to run this on my HTC Touch. I got everything on my storage card, followed the instruction, went into file explore, opened the emulator, then hit file>>open rom>> but there are no Roms to select. I installed it in a seperate folder, within the pocketnester folder. When I click open roms, the only selectable item is Tgetfile. When I clikc it, I get an error "Can not open or Mapper not support". Any ideas? Or can I just not use this setup since I have a touch? I figured it would be the same between the 2 since they have the same software. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated

N/E ways i experience a problem similar to yours but it was with a Sangsum Blackjack 2 that my girls brother had.

...lets see if this works for you. Keep Nester Files and SNES file in your storage card.

1.) go to my file share site:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/3667582/...d5/sharing.html

2.) Download SmartTool Kit New.7zip to your computer.

3.) connect ypur phone to your computer. Use ActiveSync to drag files to your storage card. then disconnect phone from computer.

4.) install SmartToolKit from your phone.

5.) open SmartTool Kit Program once you have installed it.

6.) open your nester file using SmartToolKit. now you should be able to recognized the file.

7.) try to install the tgetfiles and emulators.

8.) if it works then to be able to play it you will have to open your emulators using your SmartToolKit.

Let me know if it works ok... now im a T-Mobile Dash Fan so i havent messed with any other phones but a t-mobile dash, oh and the BJ2.

tried to msg u on youtube but it sed u have frend lock on.

i have a rly stupid question. You said to download the smarttoolkit file and zip it onto my computer, then put it on my storage card. Well once i have downloaded the file, i dont know what to do. I click it and winRAR comes up, but i dont know what file to pick, and then what to do with it:S help is greatly appreciated, thanks

figured it out, didnt need smarttoolkit, but i installed it and it messed up my phone and wont uninstall

im able to open pocketnester, i registers the tgetfile, and i can find all my roms, but when i tap one of my roms, it gives me an error "Can not open or Mapper not support". any ideas? I think im so close, lol. oh and is there anyway to do a dull restore on my touch? To clear off that smarttool kit? it wont delete, i took it off my storage card but the file is still in my programs. and it messed up my today page. at the bottom right and left where it used to say "menu" and "contacts", has disappeared and just shows my background. Has never done that before so i wanna get the emulator working, and then do a full restore and re-load the emulator

thats weird i never even set my a friend lock on my youtube. any ways.. the only thing i can think of is that once you installed smarttool kit, you installed it and it went directly to your start up.
just incase it did lets check it out.

lets uninstall it first.
start/settings/remove programs/SmartTool Kit New

restart your phone. if that didnt work then lets try this otner step.

go to start/file explorer/menu tab if you have one. choose my device.
scroll down until you find *Windows* click on winsdows.
scroll down unstil you find *StarUp* click on start up.

that should delete it completely.

let me know, in the meantime i will take off the friend lock.

i was able to open the emulator, tgetfile worked and i got all the way ti picking which rom to play, and then i get the mapper error
