i know this sounds rediculous, everyone is trying to debrand their phones including me. however i need to take mine in so i need to know where the att firmware is so i can download it back to my phone.

ok so maybe a little more insight is needed. i debranded my W580i using set tool 2 via The Griffin's excelent tutorial. the phone works great however i need to take it back to the at&t store where i got it and i would like the original firmware back on the phone so i dont have any trouble. i registered for topsony but cannot get any downloads for two months. if someone could please help me get the AT&t firmware back i would be very grateful. thanks

Pay on topsony. I think its like 3 bucks for a months worth of access.

really this is nuts. everyone and their brother has advice on how to debrand a cell phone, however i find it hard to believe there is not a single person that knows how to put the AT&T firmware back on in order to return the phone to AT&T. i debranded the phone with setool2 i should be able to rebrand with the same software. is there someone out there that can assist me????

I know how. I just cant find the cingular / att FS ????? I have never made a backup of it.. Iv debranded 3 w580i's and never had to "rebrand" them...

Whats wrong with your phone?

I have sent in a few SE phones for warranty with debranded firmware and had NO problems.

Well I dug around some more and just cant find the cingular branded file system for the w580i.. Any one else able to help em out?

I debranded my w580i and then needed to take it back also.......I just took it back. No one at the store even noticed that it was different, they just did an exchange for me.

hey thanks for looking. if anyone can find anything i would appreciate it. by the way i have been searching this forum and other forums for a way to get my text messages back, when i debranded i lost the ability to send or recieve text messages. this is one of the reasons i want att back. i just makes me nervous because you spend the money on the phone and now can't even use it to send texts. i am pretty frustrated with this.

Did you get the SMS settings directly from SE?

when i debranded this phone i lost the message setting tab in the menu. i tried to go through SE website but it says it does not have settings for my phone. i am about to give up and sell on e-bay

after debranding my 580, i lost my media package of msn,aim,yahoo messenger. anyone know how to get those back? ive looked in a lot of places, cant seem to find how.
