Holiday Pay

Question. I'm scheduled for 40 hours this week and off two days, Tues and Thanksgiving of course. So, am I going to get paid for 48 hours this week? How does this work. My hire date was Oct. '07. I'm a newbie and still figuring out the pay structure. It was my impression that I get paid for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but if I'm already scheduled off those days how does that work? Please advise!

should be 16 hours holiday. at least here in california its that way

Yeah, but you don't see both holidays on one check. So one 8 hour holiday on one check, and another on the check after next.

Is Black Friday a holiday? I checked today and I already had 16 hrs entered in for me. I was like, wow, awesome.

Anyway, I found a link today while reading through emails and I believe you get 8 hours on Thurs & double time on Fri. If I'm right that is sweet.

day after thanksgiving aka black friday is considered a holiday.

mytime showed 16 for me too

if they fall under the same pay period they are on the same check.

any hourly employee should see 8 hours for thursday (thanksgiving) and 8 hours for friday (black friday) these are within the same pay period and will be on the same check... its not that hard to figure out people.

My call center is closed on Thursday and only has a skeleton crew on Friday. I am lucky that I don't have to work Friday.

I guess asm's don't get the extra 8 hours of holiday pay? My time only shows 8 hours of holiday pay, not 16

You're correct, but only if you work Friday... otherwise it's 8 hours of regular pay.

ASM's don't get the extra pay on Black Friday.

Also, my ASM told me that we actually get double time and a half on Black Friday. This is insane! I work 10 hours on that day. I hope to make major bank!!!
