Check out UnlockThatIphone.com. I've used them several times now, very easy, just follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen. Also walks you through checking your versions to make sure you're doing the right stuff.

Good guide, they need to make one to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 I like their straight foward methods.

Okay, I will try from what I understand, I must have partially un-locked mine?
it doesnot go to the emergency screen anymore???.

from an unlock perspective iphone sim free is a one time method lasting from upgrade to upgrade, where free methods like anysim typically involve downgrading first for several weeks, until the latest firmware is made unlockable. With recent updates to the baseband making this harder - the value of a one time ipsf unlock seems to have been a good investment to me

You didn't unlock it yet! haha
perhaps all you did was by-pass activation and jailbroken into the iPhone

that are already on sim to iphone, BTW My old phone is a Samsung U600???

Could he not sync his samsung to the computer then copy all the contacts to outlook and from there sync the iphone with outlook?

I dont know much about the samsung but that is what i have done previously with my nokia and ipod.

Haven't gotten my iphone yet.
