I have had a Sony Ericcson Z520a for 1.5 years and it is another reason WHY I'm never going to even 'think' about paying a penny for another Environmentally UNfriendly piece of Asian CRAP that broke down in April 2007 and Fido's 'customer service' reps are LESS than UseLeSS as HALF of them DON'T 'listen' OR READ ANY of the emails I have sent, only sending me 'politically' IN 'correct' email CRAP.
Here's what I received as another USLESS 'response' from Fido customer 'service' reps lately.

Once again, I am NOT satisfied with the 'quality' of your staff's 'service, Especially Samuel, who called today Dec.6, 2007 at 10:30 AM PST and started with a long winded introductory speech, only to have the nerve to ask, "how long have you had your phone ?" when I have specifically written a letter stating this and all of the other problems I've continued to have with your cheap Asian phones which not only do not work properly after a year's use, but only add to the environmental waste this

Also Insulting is the fact that you ask for our email above and then have someone of Samuel's qualifications' (who seems to be about as vague as some of the other customer 'service' reps I've spoken to and ended up Wasting even more of my time trying to communicate, however as they either don't, won't or can't be 'bothered' to READ what I've spent time and effort typing, I'd REALLY APPRECIATE being emailed and
communicated with someone of above 'average' intelligence who can READ as well as Listen. Thankyou ! AND Just so I don'T receive another VAGUE phone call from someone at Fido, PLEASE READ what I have ALREADY SENT BEFORE

I have been a Loyal Customer with Fido since December 24, 2004 and have paid $40 - 50 EVERY month PLUS long distance charges to at total of +/- $1500 since.
My Sony Erickson Z...has noT worked Properly since April 2007 and I took it into your ONLY (?) repair store in Burnaby to get the antennae fixed.
However MY CEL PHONE SCREEN HAS BEEN COMPLETELY BLANK FOR THE PAST WEEK AND A HALF and I would like to Know WHERE Your DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER SERVICE REPAIR CENTRE IS as it takes 2 or MORE Hours for me to travel to your "only (?) Repair Centre which is in Burnaby by bus and back, which is inconvenient. I can't see ANY of the numbers to call nor use ANY of the options I used to enjoy such as Conference calling.
For the most part, I have been happy with Fido's service, however I have been Very Disatisfied with the LACK of communication skills most of your representatives have shown, most of them in their 20s - early 30s who have NOT LISTENED WELL, IF AT ALL, as too many in this 'new' generation have UNprofessional 'ATTITUDES', which comes across as Indifference and Is NOT a way for you to Maintain Customers who Simply Need someone Sensitive and Polite enough to LISTEN and Answer a CUSTOMER'S Questions.
"I-DO-NOT-KNOW" is the robotic 'response' I received from Daj (?) when I went for the second time since April 2007 at your Burnaby Repair Centre on Kingsway a week ago when I asked him which of your phones has the lowest amount of radiation as this is a concern because of health & safety issues. He didn't even 'think' to 'ask' but stood Blankly Staring at me as though he were a bored robot, not a human being with the SLIGHTEST bit of common sense, let alone communication skills or tact of knowing how to serve a customer properly.
As a result, I am relucatant to ever return to this Kingsway Burnaby'repair' centre (which is also offensive in the fact that there is a huge wall behind which they
'repaired' my cel phone in April, NONE of which I could see as I can at most Jewelry and Camera Repair shops, and Daj said "It will cost 50 2 35", instead of "Between $35 - 50", while explaining what needed to be done, as he said there is NO estimate service available. I do noT feel this modern day piracy is justifed to charge so much for a 'repair' that is noT visible and that might simply involve uploading something to it within a few seconds.
I NEED my phone REPAIRED OR REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS it is the ONLY phone I have and I NEED this for my WORK.
For the past month, I have had to Phone Fido Repeatedly to the point where I am am VERY Frustrated with Fido's LACK OF CUSTOMER Service. After phoning 4 or 5 times to have a supervisor contact me about the fact that my Sony Erickson has noT been working properly since April, and that I had to travel all the way to another city because there is NO 'service' centre to REPAIR this inferior 'quality' assembly line 'made' product from Asia, which will only ADD to the ONGOING UNCONSCIOUS POLLUTION of MORE UN Needed Land Fill with Toxic WASTE; I am FED UP.
I was told by another first name 'service' rep that a supervisor called me last Saturday, however that was at 8:30 AM and NOT 3 times as I was told when I called again. I usually work all night and am not available for calls until the afternoon. However FEW of these 'service' reps LISTEN Properly, only ADDING to my Frustration with your company.
I have PAID $50/mth for what I was initially told would cost me $25/mth, which is the first bone of contention I have with your company. I Understand that there are charges for the system access fee ($6.95/mth)and messages ($8) plus GST & PST.
I have NOT been able to see ANYTHING on my screen for the past week and I WOULR REALLY APPRECIATE RECEIVING A REPLACEMENT PHONE IN PERSON AT YOUR DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER CENTRE (GEORGIA & GRANVILLE) with an MP3 PLAYER
included WITH NO CONTRACT.
I was TOLD yesterday around 5 pm by a Stadium Skytrain Station COSTCO Representative (who also didn'T give his name, but is a 20 - 30 year old Asian Canadian) that if I called Fido or went to your Georgia & Granville Store, Your Company would REPLACE my cel phone for FREE. When I asked him if Fido Recycles its phones, he also said, he didn't know (or care) from his tone.
I HAVE been to this downtown Vancouver Fido location SEVERAL Times to be also either ignored or told to contact your office or phone, which I'm NOT going to do again only to be asked, "What is this regarding ?" by ANOTHER VACANT 'minded' 20 something year old rep who could care MORE iF you want to MAINTAIN My Business with your company that I 'should phone Fido again.
NO 'thanks'. I AM MORE Than FED UP with this Wizard of OZ 'games' HELD on HOLD between 15 - 30 minutes or MORE at a time everytime I call only to HAVE TO REPEAT MYSELF OVER AND OVER because the 'great' OZ (A Supervisor) is noT in..and I have been either hung up on or told I would have to WAIT another 5 minutes (which usually amounts to another 10 - 15) before I've been told, "Someone will contat you within 24 - 48 hours."
I WANT THIS EMAIL SENT TO YOUR HEAD OFFICE MANAGER AS I'VE HAD IT with the INCOMPETENCE & circumventing CRAP your 'service' agents and some of your 'supervisors' have given me.
HERE ARE MY TERMS IN ORDER FOR YOU TO MAINTAIN MY loyalty as a FIDO CUSTOMER
1) NO CONTRACT ! I HAVE PAID YOU $1200 PLUS MORE since Dec.24, 2004 and feel I warrant some RESPECT as a Loyal Customer who has PAID his bills up to date.
2) A NEW CEL PHONE WITH AN MP3 PLAYER
I Would REALLY APPRECIATE RECEIVING the Sony Erickson Z710i or Equivalent with an MP3 Player that INCLUDES a cable to download songs up to 2 GB Expandable.
I would like to have an LG TU 500 Video phone, but would like to know the EXACT CHARGES and ALL the hidden fees before I consider purchasing this in the future IF I stay with Fido.
