Hi

I stayed with 1.0.2 for quite a while, but I gotta admit I'm very happy with 1.1.1/1.1.2 The louder volume, changable message tones and free custom ringtones are well worth the update; to me anyway. One thing I noticed, it seemed like my battery life decreased with the 1.1.1 update(not terrible, but not as good as before), but came back to normal with the 1.1.2. I easily get 3+ days now with normal usage. I honestly don't think you'll regret the update.

i'm still on 1.0.2 as well, just haven't had the time, or total motivation to upgrade until i'm sure all the kinks are worked out.

still 1.0.2. Hasn't been a reason for me to upgrade yet. I did try 1.1.1 but the volume difference was non-existent so I went back to 1.0.2. I even compared my 1.0.2 to a bunch of 1.1.1 phones at the apple store and the volume levels were identical (go ahead, try it, placebo on apples part). The ease of jailbreak/activate on 1.0.2 makes it worth sticking with it for me right now.

i also stay on 1.0.2 because all the tweaks from 1.1.1 are available with the 1.0.2 firmware :

- simPort (copy/paste ur sim contacts into the iphone)
- louder volume
- custom ringtones
- KB (disable auto correction on keyboard)

thats basicaly all i need.

i dont need all the hustle and problems in 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 or 1.1.whatever

i was using 1.0.2 but unlocking 1.1.1 was too easy to pass up. It really takes like 10 minutes to do.

Posted by: chex_bomb

I'm still using 1.0.2 but it's actually been acting up lately. My weather doesn't load (just says "update failed" after a few seconds) but my youtube and google maps are fine.

I'm seriously considering updating to either 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.

Still on 1.0.2. No motivation to upgrade. No time. No gain.

where do you find simPort? thanks.

Here it is

Still on 1.0.2 here. The phone is working fine (touch wood) and don't see the need to upgrade.

BTW, Chex_bomb I had the same problem with the Montreal weather. I think it's something on the server side because all other cities (including Laval) work fine.

Cheers!

Just upgraded to 1.1.2 since the new jailbreak / activation came out. Everything runs well -

Also, I don't know how to explain this, but the keypad when typing a message 'FEELS' different. It obvioulsy doesn't as it's not even real buttons - might be the sound is louder..either way, it feels better..HAHAHAH..I'm crazy, I know.. :|

Phone seems faster, and they got rid of that annyoning CAPS lock issue which I am very thankful of.

Same here.

I'm on 1.02 but may upgrade to 1.1.2 for the voicemail sms fix.

i just downgraded a store bought 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 and plan on keeping it that way.much more easily hackable and crackable.keep your wifi itunes store and blah blah.i like 1.0.2 and most of the outdated guides on the net as well as software still support 1.0.2 so why not keep it?not enough to gain if you ask me.

Hehe... All this talk is so reminiscent of the PSP.

Same here, still on 1.0.2 with no issues or complaints.
I have been considering updating but not sure what the exact features would provide on the new fw 1.1.2

i went to 1.1.2 today so that I could get the fido VM SMS messages.

all is good, the process took some time, but worked well

On 1.0.2 also, but itching to upgrade. Just too terrified of messing up my phone that I'm holding off on doing it for now.

Honestly? it's pretty hard to brick an iPhone as you can always restore it.

PLUS, that's half the fun of having an iPhone. haha

I guess I can give it a shot. Not knowing the method that was used to unlock my phone, which guide/link would you suggest I use to get it upgraded? Thanks.

I don't see any major benefit to upgrading. Now if they had included Cut&Paste... now that would be different.

I would consider better battery life management to be a MAJOR benefit of 1.1.2 I'm getting an extra 2-3 hours of battery life since upgrading.

still on 1.0.2. I don't know why I havent upgraded. Scared it would brick my phone? I don't know. I'll probably upgrade in a week or two just for the hell of it. I really doubt it'll make my phone any louder though

I was on 1.0.2 with 3.14 unlocked since the first day I got it with no issues. I decided to go to 1.1.1 4.01 2 days ago. I liked the wifi music store, but had alot of issues. The IPhone locked up and e-mail was intermittent, sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I downgraded back to 1.0.2 with the baseband at 4.01. The IPhone is ROCK SOLID with the 4.01 baseband running 1.0.2. It seems to be the best combination. 4.02 has it's issues with international sim cards. That is probably the reason it came out so IPhones aren't shipped overseas.

Hope this helps!
