The samsung a717 isn't showing up on the at&t website for me anymore. Did they discontinue this phone? I wanted one of these as a backup phone.

We haven't received any shipments of this phone in our store in over a month now. Maybe they are having some manufacturing issues? Dunno!

A717 is being EOL'd with the SYNC. As of December, only the Red SYNC will still be sold. Black, Blue and the 717 will be history, not that the 717 sold very well until they dropped the price.

probably EOL'ing both the SYNC and A717 to have the A747 replace both.

when does the a747 come out?

Within a week or so. Most stores have already placed orders.

Well dang, I guess my buddy got his at the right time. Do you think stores will still have these and sell me one cheaper?
They sold my friend a freakin a few weeks ago. She came up to me and she's like I got a new phone! She pulled it out and I'm like dude.. where did you get this thing.

Weird, all the Wal-Mart stores in my area just started carrying the A717 within the last 2 weeks. It's like $48.88 with a 2yr and $326.88 "No Contract"

it's showing up on the att website now. refurb for $69.

My A717 has been utter crap (or maybe it's the network since I drop calls all the time going from 5 bars to none without mving my phone; literally since I often have it on a bluetooth headset on a table/desk).
Was hoping to wait a little while and have them replace it with something else rather than a refurb (if they were phasing them out and wouldn't have any left in stock). Too bad it's back on their site.

Really? I have heard nothing but good things about that phone. My buddy loves his.

I might just have a bum phone. But yes...really.
Other than that, it's a great phone in terms of call clarity. The sad thing is that before buying it, I did a lot of reading on this forum and people were either recommending it or the V3xx. I wanted to get something other than "another RAZR" and so I went with it. Should have went with the RAZR because I always see that phone suggested when people ask about phones with great reception.
