I tried searching but I couldn't find any info.

Does anyone know of an instant messenger app that works for yahoo messenger or Skype on the iphone?

Native apps? No. But there's plenty of web ones, ie Meebo, etc...

I'm using UnL0CkER, it can be found in the installer app, under summerboard themes.
