my story goes like this:

Purchased phone, sing 1.0.2 I jailbroke with pacay, unlocked with iunlock. Phone was flawless.

One available, I revirginized, upgraded to 1.1.1, utilized the jailbreakme method; unlocked with anysim 1.1, phone again worked flawlessly.

Upon upgrading my customize from 1.13 to 1.15, i tried the keyboard skin like some of these other guys, ran into the black keyboard problem, went home and restored the phone. Jailbroke and acivated just fine. Keyboard came back, all was well. Went to run anysim 1.1 after the restore, it ran through everything and at the end said "this phone cannot be unlocked" then closed itself. However, it still showed i was getting service on tmobile after it failed its process. "Whatever" I thought to my self, and went about my merry way.

The next night I was at work, setting the phone back up, I decided to try one of these other summerboard themes from hytymes. Attempted to download it and it told me I had to have summerboard installed. I did. Figured "whatever" and hit the home key to close it out; it was at that point I had problems again.

The phone wouldn't load my summerboard theme. It would act as though it was trying but would just keep reloading them in a loop. I essentially couldn't do anything as the phone was constantly trying to load up the springboard. At one point in the middle of doing so it changed my wallpaper even which was confusing...anyways. So I just shut if off (home/power button method) and again went home to restore it.

Now I'm at the point where I am right now with it. Its been running good except that it occasionally crashes on anything that seems to utilized an edge connection. First the phone slows WAY down than eventually crashes back to the home screen. After it does that 2-3 times it crashes back to the unlock screen and then after that point all is well till the next go around.

Anybody got any ideas? I would like I avoid another restore if at all possible, but I'm thinking that is in its ultimate future and probablythe only response I'm going to get out of anybody regardless of the fact that I've had more problems with restoring since all this crap happened.
I'm REALLY starting to miss my Dash. I worked beautifully everyday and didnt seem to need updates every month that just caused problems with everything.

Can you tell my frustration ?? Even as i type this its slowing down to the extent of it forcing me to wait as it catches up on what im typing

for the record, it did its thing again except this time after it crashed the 3rd time the phone froze then restarted itself...

is it possible to have a corrupted 1.1.1 restore file that i installed on here?

If I leave it how it is and upgrade to 1.1.2 am I going I lose the probelms I'm haveing or are they going to be persistant after the upgrade?

Edit for horrible spelling errors on the phones behalf

have you tried rebooting the phone ? Holding home and sleep button together until the apple logo shows on your screen?

I have encountered this problem with a customer's iPhone. Also a Summerboard issue where the iPhone crashes. A simple restore will fix this

well then i would suggest doing a restore on the phone.

You can try upgrading to 1.1.2, if your phone isn't working right now, you don't have much to lose

Worst case scenario, you virginize your phone start again...

that's just it though, it does work, I'm posting this from it right now...it just gets frustrating when it doesn't work like it used to.

I don't want to upgrade for the sheer fact that it MIGHT not solve the problem. Then if it doesn't, I have a whole lotta work to do to get it working again. Now, I'm not a complete idiot, but some of these new jailbreak procedures are a little to in-depth for my comfort level right now.

So, I do have a bit to lose.

I want to clear this up though for my own sake...

Being that I have it unlocked right now, when I do a restore of 1.1.1, does it NOT re-lock the phone?

If not, should I be using oneSim to relock before restoring it?

If I have already virginized the phone once, there is no need to do it again, correct?

And again, is it possible to have a corrupted restore file if i downloaded it from a rapidshare account vs. The actual apple server?

OKAY, so how will NOT restoring the iPhone; whether to the same firmware or a newer firmware solve the problem?

You post a thread in which you ask for help to your problem, and when you get suggestions, you just ignore them.

I have been under the impression that an update isn't the same as a restore...hence why you can update and not have to reload everything back onto the phone...is that incorrect?

Whereas a restore will erase everything and start fresh, correct?

See where one can assume that updating might not solve the problem?

Im not ignoring anything, im just trying to make things clear, apparently its a problem as obviously stated by the simple misunderstanding above that the phone doesnt even work, when i said that it does, with some quitks that it never had.

I was maybe hoping that somebody knew why this happens and MAYBE there was a fix besides restoring. I haven't had the best of luck lately with restoring this stupid thing.

No, an upgrade is exactly like a restore only you are upgrading plus restoring. Its supposed to be like when you sync it saves how you had it and then either an upgrade or restore will undo everything and then re-put everything back whether the same or just an upgraded OS. Steve Jobs didn't intend for it to do the same with 3rd party apps and unlocking. . . . . . We all know that so a restore is probably your best bet. If not virginize restore with only basic stuff like your contacts and pictures, with out jailbreaking and go get it replaced.
