Anyone know about MTP device drivers?

I'm running Windows Vista Premium, use a LG VX8550, and using the USB cable that was supplied. Tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

1- Open V Cast manager
2- click on "Music on my phone"
3- Connect my phone to USB
4- hit connect at the top righthand side of the manager.
5- The phone loads up and says its connected, but the manager says nothing. I even went and took a shower , and 10 mins later it didnt come up.

Down on my toolbar i have a small rectangle with a green arrow telling me that it is not installed correctly, click here for more info. When I click on it, it says
MTP Device failed

I'v looked for a long while now. Its been about 3 weeks since it has started this. I'v searched and searched and cant seem to find anyone having this kind of problem. I'v uninstalled the manager completly 4 times now and installed them again, It didn't help. If anyone could please help me out it would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem and could not figure it out for a couple of weeks. I read about something recently on another subject and decided to try it, and it worked for me. All I had to do to get the MTP to load correctly was to turn off the phone and then turn it back on and wait for everything to finish loading, then plug it back in to the computer and try again. Too easy? Well I don't know if this will work for you but it's worth a try.
