Biggest POS Phone: You Decide!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

OK folks, time for a good old fashioned poll. This one's simple: Which phone is the most frequently broken piece of garbage that you see come into your store? You know, that nasty phone that you remember was the "free phone" from the internet 6 months ago, and now they're all coming back into your store with "problems".

Let's vote the winner!

ehhh it's a tough call. i voted for the v3 because i hate that POS phone and i can't believe people actually still pay money for it when it's not free. but the cu400 is possibly worse...i've seen so many of those just stop working within a week and they just crap out i have no idea why anyone would get it

I hate lg phones, but I have grown to hate the razr more than any other phone.

That Sony tops my list out of the choices you gave. I don't know why the previous poster complained about the cu-400--that was one of THE best phones we ever sold. NEVER saw one come back...got perfect reception almost everywhere...and was durable as hell. The v3 is a close second...poor battery life, dust under the screen, poor reception...etc. The all-time worst phone was the LG 1500.

Samsung Sync is terrible.

I voted for the v551...but the lg c2000 was a POS phone for sure.

Yeah, there have been some other gems of turd greatness for sure, good call and bonus points to Nuku and Cingman on the C2000 and 1500 respectively. I couldn't think of the model numbers on those at time of posting, but those are definite turd factories for sure.

No pearl? Or treo 750? Both of those phones come back with real defects all the time!

I voted for the v3 though.

You're right, I should start a "garbage excuse for a PDA" thread...

thanks for the idea!

I should have mentioned the c2000, c1500, and c1300 they are the worst phones, but with EVERYONE buying the razr, that is still the one we get the most calls about.

just wondering...how many z525/z520a came back to the store with broken screens (white screens that can call out) b/c of the hinge design? (brother on his third, all same issue)

Same here, V3 all the way.

That is, in fact, the number one problem with those phones. Somehow, the wiring that runs through the hinge of the phone must "rub" against the plastic in a wrong way, and over time, it just wears right through at the hinge, therefore killing the screen.

So in summary, the phone lasts just about long enough for the warranty to run out.

This is almost as big of a turd as the Nokia 6102i....but not quite.

Tossup between the CG225 and the Sony Ericssons they sell only on the website.

I can't decide...wait...the Sony.

Definitely not the V3. Yes, a lot come back with issues, but I think that's a numbers issue more than a phone issue. Cingular, and AT&T have probably sold 5-10 million RAZR's over 3 years. If 5% go bad over the course of a year, that's 250,000 to 500,000 bad RAZR's.

And A lot of the people who bought the RAZR, should only buy phones built like the V365.

For people looking for a rugged phone, I actually wish we could still sell the V365 in retail. Yes, I realize it's an older phone (not by much), but a solid one at that.

Sorry for the slightly off-topic rant.

We still sell them at my location....well we still have them in stock and on display that is.

Thats why I don't like AT&Ts marketing. They are so lame with their free w/contract POS phones I mean C'mon the original V3 is a three year old model! Whats so great about it that it has to be produced for that long? Come on nothing is ever truly free!

Posted by: JP Whoregan

Well, after more than 50 votes, it looks as if the V3 RAZR is the POS winner!! Congratulations, Motorola, you should be proud!!!

FYI, I don't care if it's just because there's alot of V3's sold....it's still a dog-**** phone

How is the V551 not winning? Or the V557 for that matter.

At least the V3 manages to stay connected for longer than two minutes.
