Anyone have any slight ideas of what this year's promotion will be on BF? Management has said that this year will be bigger than last year's BOGO on any phone.

The ads will run in the newspapers tomorrow (Wednesday)-let's just say it's a good one! Oh, and it runs thru Monday.

I think the promo sucks because we are getting screwed on GP...they are running 50% off most phones and data devices over the weekend. For example, a Curve that is advertised at $199.99 after MIR will now be $99.99 after MIR Fri-Sun. Sounds great if you are a customer, but for us, we are losing $100 of profit on every sale. AT&T is not spiffing anything, so once again we take it up the @ss.

We don't get paid on the phones we sell technically...only the service.

I had a customer come in today and tell me what the promotion was! I was like wtf! how did you get this information before me?

Apparently at&t sent out an email to some customers about the promotion.

Thanks at&t for helping your front line reps out

They'll be coming out in droves!!!! We might as well just hang a "Wal Mart" or "Best Buy" sign over our doors in front of the ATT sign!!

Just found out we are getting a $30 spiff on the 6555 and a $15 spiff on the Sony 580 (which we don't carry), and neither one starts until Monday.

The 50% deals are on the Duo, Curve and ALL Samsung phones.

I just bought a giant jar of vaseline to make the weekend go by easier.

Thats probably the only downside to working at a franchise rather than COR. Everything else at COR sucks lol.

Not to sure if you actually know what your talking about but back in the real world, pretty inaccurate statement. I get my check on time every time, more phones than I know what to do with(most current phone selection fyi), from what my friends that work for cor say and some of you.....cor and agents are pretty close on terms of "organized", and if your agent isn't doing well then they will file for bankruptcy. Pretty sure even hellen keller could see that last one comming so I am not sure about the landslide.

Rnd 2:
Cor:
-stocking a store with more reps then needed
-30% payout on features
-A comp plan that changes like a revolving door
-A union that does nothing
-A Quota that will rise with every new employee added to the store
-A 19.99 feature requirement in order to get the best price in store(ours is 9.99)
-Working for a company that does their best to make the customer go online to get their phones and features instead of cor or agents.

Pretty sure the only way I would work for cor is if perscriptions of zanex were being handed out at the training ceminar.

freakin NCA market was lagging pretty much the entire day. lost quite a bit of act's/ups as customers were just too frustrated to stick around. I love how the IT department assured us during the mid-week conference call that everything will go smoothly. you would think that at&t would have learned from last year's BF and the iphone situation and expect an increased volume in transactions in OPUS this year.

And your promo details are way off for the NE market. The only 50% phones advertised here are the A737, w-580i, 8310, Duo, and V9. Now if you want to get picky, I can discount ANY phone 50% if I choose to...ANY phone...because that's the kind of flexibility an Agent store has. I don't have to wait for The Man to tell me when to discount something, or what price I have to sell my wares for.

I respect that COR works for you...I just wish you weren't so misinformed as to how Agents work, and that you could respect that some people choose to work for one.

You would think wouldn't you? But it seems like every year its the same story and it hasn't changed since the launch of GSM on at&t wireless.

This black friday wasn't too bad. Didn't have that many cheap customers, and the ones I didn't wanna deal with I sent to COR. Traffic sucked though.

Walmart has free activations this weekend too. Don't know if this is nationwide but saw it at one yesterday.

I had a guy come in asking about the blackberry 8310 promo (which is a pretty good one), and on top of the discount we were already offering, he asked if he could get them as a buy one get one free for the $99 price. come on now, you've gotta be kidding me. but other than that, this weekend hasnt been all that bad so far.

free activation is for all ATT activations this weekend.
Went to 3 different COR stores looking for 2 580i this weekend, not only were there none in stock but one guy try to tell me they won't be in stock until after the 1st of the year.
there were alot of workers in the stores how do you guys make any money?

I just received several 580i's I have them in stock. BTW the COR guys always look down on the Agent guys but I know first hand that the knowledge base of COR sales reps is horrible. They only know what they were told in training ,no time was taken to learn anything above and beyond the general knowledge. How do I know this? Because I love nothing more than to go into my local COR stores and pretend I am a new customer. It boggles my mind the lack of knowledge.

That is not true about the COR reps in my area (well most of us). I love sweeping generalizations about either side. (if you didn't realize that was sarcasm) Yes there are going to be some people on COR who do not know about things, and there will be some agents. But all of this COR SUCKS or AGENTS SUCK.....is ridiculous. I cannot stand it.

Evidently you did not go to a store in the san fernando valley, the majority are well stocked.
