Quick question about debranding.

I'm new on SonyEricsson, I just need to know can I debrand the phone without need of unlock it first? I'm thinking to upgrade a SE W580i from Rogers and I know they locked some features like allowing to use your own MP3 as ringtone. I have searching around and seems like I can debrand it using wontan server, but I just want to confirm it that I can debrand it without need of unlock it first, I don't want screw the phone up on the first day..

Yea. No need to unlock the phone first. Wotan is pretty simple too.
