Real Men and Phones of Color

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

OK, this may sound funny. But I am serious about the question.

Do "real men" use phones that are colors other than black or shades of gray? Obviously, not pink, etc. But the new BB Curve 2 comes in a burgandy that could be had by a man. I used to have an LG VX8100 that was blue and it was OK, too.

So let's have some fun here, but please take is seriously. I am interested in the answers.

Can a "real man" use a phone that is not black or gray? Or does it entirely depend on which color?

If you're really worried about this, you need to become more secure in your gender identity.

PS: I have a red Centro.

I had a Crimson Treo 680 that I liked at first...but eventually gave to a female friend that now has it covered in a PINK silicone skin. So...if it wasn't "girly" when I had it...it damn sure is now!! She loves it, and I'm glad she has it.

I just got a Red BlackBerry 8310...and I think it's great! The red is not bright, but almost a blood-red...dark and very masculine. I much prefer it over the silver of my previous Curve 8300, and even the other color choice for the 8310..."titanium". The dark red works well with a suit, or casual clothing too...and is definately not "girly". In fact I have had many favorable comments from men and women alike on how cool it is. And, having a pretty woman say they think your device is sexy is never a bad thing...LOL.

Nothing wrong with black/gray/silver phones, except that they are a little played for me. I just want something a little different. I think guys carrying colors is subjective. Some colors are just too bright for me personally (the 680 Crimson, for example) but others are great.

And, by the way...I am 100% a "real man", and not at all insecure about my sexuality.

When I see a Camo Blackberry, then I'll worry about it. "Git R done"

Why would any guy worry about the freakin color of his phone?

Saw a guy at my local AT&T Corp store buying a pink Razr V3xx the other day...and I don't think it was for a girlfriend. I know "Pink is the new Black"...but...

I'm just sayin'...

I like the crimson phones--the Blackberry 8310, razr v3xx, razr 2, but not the treo. The treo looks too much like a cheap red phone. The camo Blackberry wouldn't be too bad of an idea, if only they had a bright orange Blackberry for hunting. Oh, and girls would want a pink Blackberry. But since they usually go down on the price of phones, i'm going to wait until the crimson Blackberry is refurb and goes for $29.99.

I think the burgandy and crimson are okay. Dark blue is okay. Red is borderline...depends on the shade. Obviously silver and any shade of silver is good and black is good. I carry a KRZR that can look a little purple in some light. It bothers me a little, but I like the phone so well, I don't really care about the color. Since PDAs and Smartphones are geared toward business, I don't believe a man or woman would want to go into a meeting carrying anything that is way "Out there" as far as color. It just wouldn't be business appropriate.

Before my 8300 Curve, I was carrying around a Razr2 V9 Mahogany Phone *2 weeks with this phone* The color was not that bad it was the phone itself having issues. Out of the 8310, I prefer the Titanium because Red does not do it for me in general but if I had to carry a red 8310 I would with out any problems...

Ever since I got the red 8310 I am getting mugged by women as soon as I go out the door. Its amazing!!!!!

I only prefer manly colors, so the new red curve would not be for me. I could use phones that are blue, grey/silver, black, and thats about it.
