Please Help Me!!! 1.02. to 1.1.1???!?

Hi,

I just received an UNTOUCHED OUT OF THE BOX 1.0.2 iphone.

I tried restoring it to 1.1.1 by putting it in recovery mode and selecting the 1.1.1 ispw file, but the restore fails!!!

Now the phone is basically stuck in recovery mode....please help

might help if you let us know which carrier you have, is it activated through itunes...a little more detail on it. Not sure why you would restore to a later version rather than updating

So true, why restore out of the box??? to a newer firmware

are you using a Mac or PC??

heres the deal:

Im on a mac and im (trying to) unlocking it for a friend (who will be using it on rogers)

Its 1.0.2 out of the box but when i tried to update it, it wanted me to activate it in itunes and if i tried to restore it, it wanted to put 1.1.2 on the phone...I want 1.1.1

So i downloaded the 1.1.1 .ipsw file and restored it

(I am now on 1.1.1)

I then followed instructions on hacktheiphone and used the emergency call thing to get the installer app on my phone through jailbreakme.com

but, when I tried to install BSD Subsystem and Anysim, I couldnt get back on to a network....it only found the netoworks but wouldnt let me join...sometimes i got on it...although safari wouldnt work and in the middle of downloading though installer app, it crashed.

ANY IDEAS?!!

honestly, you just need a better, more secure wifi signal!

My wifi signal is full strength when it is connected and on my mac in, it is always full strength....i got it to connect to the wifi network a couple of times, but safari cant get on the internet when it is connected at full strength
