att wont take sealed iphone back without restocking fee?

So i went to return two iPhones today, still sealed got them two days before. They have not been opened or anything. I take them to the ATT store from where i got them, and the lady tells me there is a 10% restocking fee, im like hmm.. these are still brand new, isnt restocking fee only if they are opened. She said no they are on all iphones, no matter what when you return them. She goes asks the manager or something, and he says the same thing. So im like forget it, i'll just keep them then. I knew for a fact that there is no restocking fee if they are still new and stuff, and i looked online on ATT site and i was right....

Return Policy

A. Yes. Apple branded equipment is covered by a 14-day return policy and must be returned to the original point of purchase. If the Apple branded equipment is returned unopened and in the original shrink wrapping, it will be refunded back to the original payment method. Opened Apple branded equipment that is returned within 14 days will be subject to a 10% open box restocking fee. All products must be packed in their original, unmarked packaging including any accessories and manuals that shipped with the product.

so according to this, i should get full refund? Correct?

yes a full refund

print that out, show them the print out, if they dont believe, tell them to look online. if they dont care, call in a get the district(manages mutiple stores [higher tier manager than store mangager]) for the store

yeah that's what I was going to do, print it off the site, so it shows everything n doesn't look like I made it up.... Im sure they will take them back when i show them that.

I bought mine from an AT&T store last week. I asked the return policy; the guy said 14 days and 10% restocking if its was opened.

Every phone that AT&T sells (except the i-what?) has a very liberal 30 return policy. AT&T has NEVER charged a restocking fee, period.

I know as I have been with them for years and tried and returned many phones just to enjoy different models before making the committment to keep them. I have enjoyed great service from AT&T.

The 14 day rule with the iPhone is a deal that Apple demanded (not AT&T), as they (Apple) get the 10% from AT&T. Good Old Steve Jobs is going to get you coming and going, even when you least expect it. He's the master of convincing customers to open their wallets for anything with an i in front of it. Welcome to the World of Apple! Think Different, as their old ad said, and remember it's going to cost you!

And Steve? He's laughing at all the lemmings that contribute to his fat wallet.

print it out and be prepared to rub it in their face. Get the district manager on speed dial and let them know their stupidity is not acceptable.

yeah i am going to print it out, the only reason i dont want to be a *** to them is cuz in the furture im probably going to have to buy more iphones. So they are not just going to give them to me then, because when i went there and told them i need 3, they gave me 3 without any problems.....i opened one, so i know i cant return that one without the restocking fee.

the apple store is the same right? if its still in the shrink wrap, i can most likely return it without a restocking fee?

yeah i would guess so, thats like going back to any store and returning something new, they cant charge u fees for that....

do you guys think that the at&t stores will have the older weeks iphones? i figure that the at&t stores dont sell the iphones as fast as the apple store. i bought one at the apple store but i got a week 47 phone. just my luck

I bought one on Sunday the 18th in NYC at an AT&T store on 5th Avenue and I got a week 42 phone with 1.1.1. It's now unlocked and happily working on T-Mobile.
