maybe iPhone 2 will have standard features. I'm crossing my fingers for voice dial, mms, SMS to multiple recipients, copy and paste and bluetooth transfer. Im not holding my breath though

how about they send an update with these features instead of having to buy a whole new phone ("iPhone 2") to get these basic features? i think we should cross our finders for that.

Because they will probably tout these basic features to get people to buy the next version. Most people wouldnt buy the iphone 2 just for 3g. I can see the future now... Iphone 2 comes out and a majority of consumers respond "shouldnt we have already had these features? Theyre so basic"

I keep a backup razr just in case i need mms or sms to multiple people.

Yeah I know Apple's marketing scheme, bottomline is that its rediculous to the consumer. Imagine the Invention of the year wont even allow you to BlindCC someone in an e-mail, wont allow you to send multiple pictures in one e-mail, wont allow you to send text messages to multiple recipients, not even a decent amount of space for text message storage and not to mention the horrible camera pixels. It doesnt make sense.

And then they wont allow us to modify our phone to add some of these basic features without voiding our warranty. I've just realized i'm not an Apple person i guess.

One definite plus of the iPhone is it will push other cell phone developers to put more work into the design of their phones. I thank apple for that.

there is one reason and one reason only ive kept the iPhone: safari. There's nothing revolutionary about the phone aspect or iPod and what else is there? Ive thought about getting a tilt and if I want iPod and safari, just getting an iPod touch and have twice the memory for the same price. It also irritates me I can't brings spare battery with me wherever I go

When I had my mda, I never worried about going somewhere and being without a phone because I always had a spare battery. Now ive been caught in too many situations where I'll be somewhere and have to remind myself not to use my phone because I'm away from a power source and it might die. I hate being in this position

i know what you mean, i'm also coming from an MDA, honestly the best phone i've ever had.

I also love Safari on the iPhone that is my main purpose for the phone. But i cant just use it with Wifi i need it on the go with Edge with e-mail and everything.

same here. I went from a razr to the mda and let me tell ya, it was one big step up.

I have yet to try windows mobile 6 phone with any of the newer updated browsers. Wonder if there's anything out there that could compete with safari. Ya know how perfect the tilt would be with safari? Heavenly
