Hey folks,
So, I'm loving the iPhone.
I need the following for my car:
A cable that goes from the dock interface on the iPhone to the cigarette lighter in my car.
This cable also needs to have a line out, so that I can connect the iPhone to my car audio system.
I'm fine using my Bluetooth headset when I'm on the road, no need for deep integration there.
I could just put an Apple dock in my car, but that's kind of sloppy, and would probably not be very stable sitting in a cupholder.
Looking for JUST a cable, not an actual dock...

So far, the only thing that will work is:
Stock iPhone dock
USB universal car adapter ($5 walmart, 2 usb ports)
One normal dock cable
One iPhone dock extender cable ($65 from cablejive)
Putting this all together gives you the ability to hide the stock dock, have one cable for charge and line out, and no stupid popup message about airplane mode.

Belkin makes exactly what you want.
I have one in black. Works perfect for my car with an AUX in jack.
It does give you the "this thinger is not supported, wanna use airplane mode?"
but I just click No and it works well. Basically it's a mini amp with its own volume control.
Clicky!

Or you could try the Alpine eX-10 iPod controller seen here . I know that they call it an iPod controller but the description states that it works with the iPhone too. I'm waiting to see how well the bluetooth works with the iPhone.
