But the cheapest way is to be in japan, buy a phone + sighn a contract, cancel and go and unlock it in shinjuku / Tokyo. This is also the www.landk.ne.jp site.. Toshiba is by the way not yet unlockable and a lot of phones is cheap, but locked and remains unlockable due to the fact that the business still is small. /Cheers G |

crap... its .ne.jp Isnt the ne.jp Japan's internal network??? I will try it with the phone and see. If the site is on the internal network, I should be able to connect to it because i'm with Docomo. If it's true. I'm buying 10 phones as soon as I can connect or call them. Why does the site not load??? ![]() |

I'm getting good on the iMode/iMenu already. I can find most of the stuff I want. Except when I was just learning how to use it, i found a SEXY channel by mistake. That was interesting. (all the HOT ladies in swimsuits, got my friends attention in a split second)He started to play with tZones looking for it... Then he was pissed that its not there... lol EDIT: He just walked in... He is still PISSED... ![]() EDIT2: I addedd my email address to my Signature. In CP its set to allow emails, but when I clicked on it it told me the user does not want emails. So I just added it to the signature. EDIT3: So far I may have spent about 400 to 600 USD on hardware and cards. Not really sure on what I did spend. I did not keep the invoices or anything. So far I have found 1 friend that still has a v1 SIM and its active. I have purchased a new sim for him just incase i kill it trying to get the Ki out. So its set for tonight. I hope it will work. Will update everyone after I try it and see if it works. |

Good News: With the PSS SIM, I was able to use all the phone functions (Looks Like the IMSI Number in it was accepted by the phone) Bad News: No metter what I did, the phone FAILED to connect to any network. I did a manual connection and the 2 services here in Phila (Cingular/ATT and Tmo) where X'ed out. Only Phone Functions Worked. nothing more. (it was like the phone was in SELF MODE) Need more research on how the PSS sim is constructed and how it works. Unless the 905 series has a new security measure for PSS and sim hacking. If there is such a thing, this will be the first time I heard of it... Now this is getting interesting ![]() |

Other then that. the PSS is the first card that the phone liked and didnt reject. |
Should it be 3G.

I was told that 1900 was included in this phone, but I was never showed any proff... So far that I know is 850 1700 and 2100 are the bands in Japan. But they are also working on a new band. (not sure what it is yet). Give me some time and I will know exactly what is in this phone... I took it apart onece but as soon as I took off the back cover and seen the layers of boards and micro parts I got scared and assembled it again. It was the first time I took of just the back cover of the phone and said . This baby is stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey... ![]() |

I got one of the N905iu's with a DoCoMo contract in Japan and now I want to use my Cingular sim card with the phone here in the USA. Wolvorine, I have an active FOMA card and an active Cingular card, any way I can help with the unlock?

It seems like the PSS SIM's instability is due to it being so universal. Perhaps my thinking is wrong....

. Hopefully DoCoMo will continue to produce phones with both 3G and GSM capabilities. Having to use two phones is really quite an inconvenience.

Please let me know if I can do anything to help with the testing. I'm not familiar with the technical side of these phones and so like a few members have also said, I don't understand half of what's been written on this thread. Nevertheless, I should tell you I am currently in Japan using an F905i (locked, of course) with an active DoCoMo FOMA service contract. I originally found this thread because I was searching for ways to take my F905i home to Hawaii and be able to use it when I move back this August. At that time I will be returning to my family's house and will be back on their T-Mobile family plan. Because of that, let me know if there is anything (basic) I can do to help the cause. |

You'll lose i-mode and mail (SMS is still OK) though, and reports are that the F905i is one of the less stable 905i models (meaning that it will drop calls every now and then).

I'm not so worried about losing i-mode and stuff...comes with the territory. I just don't want to have to go home and switch from my beautiful F905i to a Samsung or Nokia, that's all. |

The PSS SIM, Unblocks all the features so the phone works, BUT I cant connect to anything. I just see the DAMN big red X in the network list. This phone really knows what i'm about to do... Scarry.I'm going to NY later today, So I will see if there are any 3G networks there. If there is I have to test a couple of features while i'm there. Even If ATT told me that there is 3G available in my area, The phone DOES NOT see it. it only sees GSM networks. Thats if the operator knows what is the difference between 3G and just plain GSM network. |
