Replacing my Moto V710 with my ne2. I'm not married to just these two models, but they both seem like good options.
My needs:
Mostly used as a phone.
Do a little text messaging.
Maybe use it for some music (would prefer it to play .mp3 AND .wma)
Might do some web browsing if I can configure free WAP (I'm not going to pay for it). Getting gmail across my cell phone would be nice.
Would be nice to use the memory as a USB mass storage.
Want it to be free with ne2 (which both the 8350 and Razr V3m are)
I'm tech savvy and fine with hacking the phone if necessary to get the features I need, but the more I can get at without futzing around, the better.

No comments on either side, eh?

Definately a vx8350. The Verizon Razr's are crappppp. They're super slow and full of bugs. The vx8350 has a great camera, it's fast, and gets good reception.

I've just replaced my RAZR with the 8650. I love the thin RAZR but to get acceptable battery life, I had to buy the "fat" battery. So much for thin-ness.
Had my VX8350 for a week now. Much better reception in marginal areas (like my house), very clear audio, and after only one conditioning discharge cycle, I'm seeing better battery life than I ever did w. my RAZR. The "stock" battery is 1000 mAh - 20% more than std. battery in thin phones like RAZR and VX8700.
That said, the 8350 is smaller. I don't do much txt messaging. The RAZR keyboard is better for texting with large hands like mine.
Took several hours to figure out how to get Phone book uploaded as BitPim does not yet have a dedicated module for the 8350, but eno says it is coming soon (per 11/21/07 post). I use the profile for the VX8550 and if you ignore the "blocked by provider" messages and try again, it appears to work OK when uploading ringtones, phone book and photos/wallpaper.
I get a phone to be a good PHONE. The VX8350 performs very well.
