I have a macbook pro and a Krzr K1m, i am looking to teather my phone with my laptop to use the phones internet connection to get internet on my phone. Does anyone know how to do this? I have connected my phone over bluetooth as well as usb. this has been a really frustrating process for me... in system prefs it asks for account, telephone number etc and i dont know what to put in there. I have used Launch2net but that also hasnt worked for me.

This depends on your provider. I am with alltel and can give you the following advice that works flawlessly on my PowerBook running leopard. If you are with verizon, I doubt tethering is at all possible.

First of all, make sure bluetooth is turned on and in "Find Me" mode.

Pair your phone with the mac.

Select "Use this phone as an internet connection" or whatever

If you have a Motorola phone, you will want to select "Sprint PCS Vision" as the phone model. I have no clue why but all I do know is that it works perfectly with motorola phones tethering on bluetooth.

Dialup number is: #777

username is (your number)@alltel.net
example: 2123789987@alltel.net

password: alltel

Save everything and then use the little phone icon in your menu bar to connect. If you are in EvDO coverage, it shouldn't take too long. In 1X coverage, it will take a while to connect and the internet will be kinda slow.

Hope this helps!
