Love this phone and want to use it in Mexico for a few months there. I tried a eBay seller...their code(s) do not work? Anyone have experience with this phone? Many thanks!

I'm thinking of getting one of these and unlocking it also, has anyone unlocked it using an ebay seller.

I bought an unlock code from a seller on ebay, took less than 24 hrs to get it and unlock my Duo. What do you mean by "their codes do not work"?

Posted by: avux07

He means the codes don't work for the C150

gotta be more specific than just "codes dont work" - what error messages are displayed, etc..

Brand new AT&T Pantech C150
I bought one of those Ebay codes (yeah, yeah) but the instructions for 'all Pantech' were wrong. It claimed that if you put in a foreign SIM card, you'd get a prompt to enter the unlock/subsidy code. This does not happen, all you get is the screen saying "SIM Locked", and entering anything just results in a "Emergency calls only" error.

The unlock code sequence (if it exists at all) must be something else totally...

Anyone?

I thought it was just me!

Bought a brand new C150 and the unlock code from a company on eBay, and it doesn't work. There are no instructions for Pantech @ all! I've emailed the company 10 times over the last week and they have not responded! Can you say negative feedback?

Anyway, I tried BOTH a non-provisioned AT&T sim as well as a T-Mobile one and NEITHER of them provided me with the option of "unlocking." The non-provisioned got me the closest.... "Non-Provisioned SIM" screen and dial 66#, it will try to read the sim---> but it doesn't do anything after that.

I also tried the unlocking instructions for Samsung models (with and without a sim) and it got me nowhere.

Anyone?

Has anyone figured out how to enter the sim unlock code for this phone?

Posted by: ramey

Unfortunately no, not a thing. I have spoken to at&t as well as Pantech at length and no one seems to understand the problem.

Pantech/ at&t's official unlocking sequence (another provider's sim card) works for every Pantech phone I've tried EXCEPT the C150. I've tried two subsidy unlocking companies on eBay and the one suggested by the poster above with no luck. They all provided the correct code, but had to refund me because they could not decipher the sequence.

Everyone says they are working on it and they will let me know when the sequence "becomes available." Pfffft!

I'm officially out of ideas.

That sucks. According to Pantech's FAQ:

Can I use the C150 with SIM card from other carrier? How can I get it unlocked?
This phone is originally designed for AT&T. To use SIM card from other carrier, please contact AT&T customer care for assistance. Not all functions are guaranteed to work for SIM card from other carrier.

I wonder if the SIM unlocking menu has been purposely left out of the phone.

[SIZE=3]does any one know the code to unlock this phone

Posted by: ramey

each phone will have a different code. you will have to call the wireless carrier or buy the code from a merchant on ebay.

follow sktwo's directions and the phone will prompt you to do the rest.
