Radio Turning Off On Its Own

So yesterday I am at work deciding I am going to download some themes. I had previously sent an e-mail to my device with all the links for OTA download. They were all coming from www.eveek.com. This was quite the chore, turns out. I had to beg the phone to download. I literally was jack hammering away at the network trying to get any of the downloads to reach 50%; some to even start. Sometimes the network was not even there, according to a error message that popped up. Then, I look down at one point and the radio was off on my device, which is an 8310 from at&t. I think I can think of one time in the past where I was beating away at the network trying to get it to just send me a byte and the radio just gave up and shut off.

Any thoughts?

The way you describe your problem sounds very similar to the problems I have had with my 8820 at times. It seems like when I really need/want to get some information or download an app, I'm guaranteed to have problems with the mobile network. Sitting at my desk at work, I can sometimes browse from page to page, zipping right along, but then I try to download an app and SSccreeeech! No more data. The network just seems to drop completely until I either reset the Mobile Network connection or reboot the phone.

Other times, Opera Mini will decide it has no connection when I have just verified that the BB browser is in fact working fine, and I have both EDGE and Wi-Fi connections available. Still there are other times when Google Maps and Google Talk decide there is no network (usually when I want to chat with someone and when I need directions....figures). I love the phone when it is working, but if it is going to flake out every time I "need" it to work, I am a little worried I might need to take it back or cancel my data service
