I had a Razr that absolutely refused to charge off of mini USB connectors that weren't from Motorola. I see the Q9M is pulling the same stunt--claiming that any charging source not from Motorola is going to damage the device.
I eventually got the Razr to charge by installing a USB driver so that when connected to my PC, I could charge it.
So, 2 questions:
1. Can you safely use non Motorola chargers (like an i-Go)?
2. Are there Motorola USB drivers that will make the phone think your USB cable from the PC is legit? Aside from installing Activesync on every PC?

hmmm...if it can be charged through the pc usb port then i think it can charge with any usb charger!
motorola even included the mini usb to microusb adapter!!

well, it usually can only be charged after installing proper drivers so the phone will recognize the USB connection...I'm wondering if that is bogus, or not, as well as how i-Go chargers would work.
