MIDI files way to quiet on my 8100...

I created a few decent MIDI files, which sound just fine when played over my computer, but are far too quiet when uploaded to my 8100.

Is there an easy "work around" for this? The OEM ringers on the 8100 are plenty loud, but but not the ones I clipped using Anvil Studio.

Suggestions?

when u clipped them did u adjust the volume as well

I have the same problem. I adjust the volume in anvil and it doesn't do much. At least enough to make a difference. I asked this question in another forum and someone mentioned trying to change the instruments as some are louder than others. I have yet to try this and would actually like to find another editor that might be able to work. I know on matrixm.com when you download ringers, it lets you clip and adjust volume before you download. I have no idea how they do that or what they use, but something like that would work.

Make sure that you are testing the volume by actually calling the phone, and not just playing them from the downloaded files folder. The 5300 would play them at whatever volume that you had the ringer currently set to, but the 8100 does not.

I tested the exact same MIDIs (two seperate ones) on the 5300 and 8100 at maximum volume and the 8100 was a lot louder and sounded MUCH better because of the 32 chord polyphonic ringer.

I also use Anvil to get my MIDIs as loud as possible before uploading them to the phone.

I'll give this a try jimmy. Hope it works.

Thanks!

No Go on volume improvement jimmy.

I futzed around with Anvil and can't seem to make the changes need to jack up the volume on the MIDIs I want to upload to my 8100.

Feel like taking a whack at the MIDI file I wanna volumize??

You just turn the volume all the way up on every instrument in your MIDI clip. The Anvil volume adjustment makes a small difference, but nothing major. If it's still too low, get a different clip.

the midi files are not low on the 8100

here's how to make you MIDI files sound louder.

here's what i discovered.

when you download the files and play them in the dowload area of the phone they sound very low.

if you really want to know how your midi sounds just go on the setting and select trhe midi you 've just downloaded.

it will play very loud trust me...

That's what I said four posts ago, but thanks for backing me up. The 8100 has a louder ringer than the 5300 and a better chip that produces more chords.

I've tried setting it as the ringer and called my phone to see if it's loud, but it's still not that loud. But what I think it is, is that the midi ringers don't play as loud as the regular tone ringers. Is that what it is? To me the tone ringers sound louder than the musical ones it comes with as well as the ones I download.

Some MIDIs are definetely quiet. I compared the same MIDI ringers on the 5300 and 8100 and the 8100 is much louder and MUCH clearer.

Again, you can use Anvil Studio to increase the volume of your MIDIs somewhat, but for quiet recordings, there's not much that can be done.

Exact same issue here. OEM tone ringers play far more loudly on my 8100 than MIDI ones.
