Can't decide - BlackJack vs. BlackBerry Pearl

I have a BlackJack with the MEW1 plan (Unlimited data, 1500 SMS, 200 MMS for $19.99). I'm thinking of going to BlackBerry instead. The appropriate plan would be the BlackBerry Personal Max (unlimited data and 1500 messages) for $29.99. 3G coverage doesn't seem to exist in this area, and EDGE is predominant. If I do this, what do I gain? Push email, PIN Messaging. What do I lose? Potential 3G and the MEW1 plan, plus having to play $10 more.

What do you think?

How comfortable are you with the Pearl's SureType keypad? Some love it, some hate. Not many in betweens on that.

What do you need the device to do and how do you plan to use it?

I'm fine with the keyboard - I have used the 7100t before, so it's basically the same. As for what I need, it has to be able to do email, IM, mapping (Google Maps is fine for that purpose).

Where are you finding the BlackBerry Personal Max for $29.99? Cheapest I found is $33.99 and that's with the Premier discount through my school.

Yeah, that's what I meant, my bad. Either way, makes no difference. I think I'll stick with my BlackJack, since 3G just lit up in my town. Thanks for everyone's help.
