Streaming Video Choppy on HTC Touch CDMA 3G Version

I have read a couple of reviews that said streaming video on sprint touch worked well and was smooth. i have a bell canada touch and i am finding that when i play video on it locally or streaming (from orb.com, youtube, etc) it seems to drop a lot of frames. can someone with either a sprint or bell touch tell me if they experience the same thing or is my unit bad.
