are there any differences between the windows mobile operating systems for the phones with a touch screen versus the phones wo a touch screen? what are the advantages of having a touch screen besides the obvious pointing and tapping anywhere u want? does anyone not like having a touchscreen and prefer a non-touch screen phone instead? it seems like there are very little touch screen phones besides the ones made by HTC and i hate those bricks.

Though this isn't really touch vs. not touch, but in general Windows Mobile Professional (touch) has far more apps available for it than WinMo Standard (non touch). Personally, I prefer not having a touch screen, as often times there is simply no way to do something without using the stylus (not counting the iPhone, ofc), and I really don't like having to use a stylus.

I think most who have used both will say that, though having a touch screen helps speed things up, you won't be missing out on much going with a non-touch screen device.

The advantage with WM smartphones is that all menus are indexed (as opposed to S60), which really speeds up things.

Although the OS share the same name, they are quite a bit different. Smartphone OS (Now called WM6 Standard) doesn't support buttons in applications so many or the WM apps for Touchscreen devices will not install or run. Some do, but most don't. Many GPS programs that run on WM6 Professional (Phone with TouchScreen) don't run on Smartphone. Many network apps, don't run on smartphone. Touchscreen devices tend to be thicker and bulkier and not having real keys makes typing slower. Samsung makes Touchscreen phones.
