I have a chance to buy a 8gig iphone that has 1.0.2 firmware, but he said its bricked. can that be unlocked to use on tmobile?

was this "BRICKED" iphone downgraded from a OTB 1.1.2 Firmware?
If so, don't buy it and be careful as it may so be an iPhone with the New Bootloader that cannot be unlocked.

the only thing i know so far is that he says he needs a mac to unbrick it, and is tired of trying.

i have a iPhone it is xxx37( original Fw 1.1.1), but the phone somehow, losts the IMIE, WIFI, Bluetooth,no baseband, anytime trying to downgarde or upgrade between FW 1.0.2 error are 1011. Any clue Bro? 1st owner may tried to upgrade to 1.1.2 i dont know, but when he gave to me, it was at 1.0.2

This definately requires re-virginizing. That should do the trick.

Same here, ive got a chance to buy a bricked iphone. After his phone freaked from upgrading to 1.1.1, he restored it back to 1.0.2, but he said when he restored it, it had issues with the IMIE number. So, he used iBrickr and apptap to jailbreak it. At that point all third party apps and native apps worked. But the IMIE error breaks the WI-FI. So, he just restored it back to 1.0.2 and now it is a main screen and emergency calls only. Any ideas? Im gonna give him $100 for it. I figure even if it cant be unbricked, its at least equal to an itouch, which are just as expensive as the iphone.

ok i got the phone. I cant connect to wifi.
so I need your help and heres whats listed
version - 1.0.2 (1c28)
model - MA712
imei - 004999010640000
modem firmware - 04.02.13_G

and the 4&5 serial number is 39

if you need more info from the phone to help me let me know

looks like it has the screwed up emei problem...look on the back of the phone, do the IMEIs match?

if not, i don't think there is a fix for it yet...its bricked. there are a bunch of people on hackintosh trying to get the dev team to help out.

Yep your phone should be unbrickable - Because you have a bad IMEI, I'm going to guess the guy upgraded to 1.1.2 without virginizing a 1.0.2 phone that was unlocked with AnySIM 1.02.

Your first step is to downgrade that baseband and get your IMEI back (A viriginize might work, but most likely it will take a re-running of AnySIM 1.02)
