Activesync

Tech things that changed my life --> Microwave, Internet, Tivo DVR, and Push Email

Using ActiveSync on a PC is something people did in the early 90's with HoySync and their Palm Pilot. Today Push email or Blackberry Client is the best way to go.

install activesync, the rest is literally self explanatory provided you're using outlook or a client compatible.

how about this? Google or RTFM!!!! These questions are so simple that a caveman can do it.

You need Outlook installed on your laptop (not Outlook Express) I think it comes on the CD. The CD is also has a Getting Started thing on there that explains all of that.

ActiveSync syncs your contacts from your phone (as well as Windows Mobile phone/PDA) to your contacts folder in Microsoft Office Outlook. It syncs that plus your Calendar, Tasks and Emails.

or more specifically:

issues of RTFM and RTFT are present here. Also possibly a problem between chair and keyboard it seems. Sorry to flame here, but we can't be more to the point.

Thanks all for helping as I got all my contacts synced to my yahoo mail contact. One more question is if I replace my phone with another one, how do I get all my saved contacts from my yahoo mail to the new phone as I'm afraid when syncing, I'll loose all my saved contact since my new phone has no contact. Thanks in advance.

use ACTIVESYNC! LOL

Ok, well since you have them on yahoo then all you gotta do is sync them again and they'll get copied to the new phone.

Thanks. What if I switch to a complele different brand (Samsung to Nokia for ex), Will it sync and store my contacts properly on my new Nokia phone? Thanks.

well if you were using another Windows Mobile phone then activesync syncs them all. PDA/ PDA Phones or Smartphones, they will all be updated because they all run Windows Mobile.

Now for a Nokia, whatever application you used to sync it if it supports Nokia then it will work also. That's the nature of syncs. If it doesn't then you have to find an application that supports the source and destination.

This thread is about a Samsung Windows Mobile phone since that part of the question is answered i suggest you take the "How do i sync my Nokia phone" to that forum
