New Jersey 3G

New Jersey seems to have some 3G, but not all.

Anyone have any clue when they're going to turn it on for the whole state? It's funny how I can drive a few miles in any direction out of my town (Monmouth County) and get 3G, but not in my town.

Monmouth county's 3G is a big joke. Their new coverage maps are funnier. Recently, they painted a new picture showing Long Branch w/o 3G. I still don't understand the logic of not blanketing 3G along the route 9 corridor. Ferry Road in Old Bridge is the ending point. To me, that makes no sense. Morganville's got only one little spot up on 79 near Tennent and Lloyd Rd's..

I just don't get it.

Haha, I'm in Morganville actually and right off rt9. It makes no sense to me either.

I'm on Morganville FAS over there on Tennent Road, none of the carriers work inside that building, or well in that general area between crine and amboy.

Tennent Road should come with a disclaimer. Or at least a nice sign saying "Good Luck!" haha.. That area's always been tricky w/ most carriers. Marlboro and its' people are contradicting NIMBY's.....

Don't complain about something not working when you're the one who said no to fixing it. Now, that'd be a nice sign to see as you enter the twp.

i would say feb 08 when more spectrum available the 3g will get better. but i have no proof of that.

I live in Plainfield (union co.) and i work in Bridgewater(somerset co.) and i have 3-4 Bars of 3g service in both places.

3G is still a hot mess here and I'm dying to know what happens next. Although oddly enough, my phone/cell tower/network are playing tricks on me...My 3G sucked in and around the apt.. Calls got much, much better on Edge in my home. Consistent, not garbled, blah blah.... Lately, I'm getting more 3G in my apt with great data, poor 3G to 2G handoffs and poor voice svc in the home/outside my back/front porches.

I can't win...

Agreed.

If you're looking for the cause of the problem, you need only look into a mirror.

Now, THAT needs to be the new state slogan for New Jersey...

Second that.

Another reason why I'm stick with ATT just for voice and Sprint for data.

3G isn't available everywhere and all the problems with the handoffs switching from a 2G to 3G tower seem to be out of hand.

There's TONS of 3G here in NJ. It's on CDMA

But seriously, it does not look like there is any more AT&T 3G in NJ than when I looked last year. What is the hold up?
