I am currently a Nextel user through my work and have my i880 and plan paid for...however, i was a longtime user of Bellsouth/Cingy since 1992 and just left last Dec for Tmobile so i could get the Dash. that was my first smartphone and i loved it. now i want another....almost feel i cant get along withought one....well, since Aug. i have been with this company and they have issued Nextels....
anyway, if i do go and get my own smartphone i will have to pay for it as well as my min. i am in sales and use a lot of min, so i am having to take in concern just how expensive my plans will be including data and the like.
my two favorite phones going are the Q9h and the Touch.
what i am looking for in a phone: a good calendar and organizing features. good alarm (i generally use my cell as my alarm on and off the road), good web browser. i need that to be quick and obviously i am looking at 3G vs EVDO which i really dont have that much experience with. email. somthing that i can sync both my works outlook and my personal gmail accounts too. mms would be nice but rarely used. i dont really need a music function, but everything seems to come with this now so...oh well. and obviously a good way for text imput and contacts.
things i love about the Q9h: i love the qwerty. best i have tried. i love the 3G. i am used to WM so it seems fairly consistant with everything i have tried. the email is easy and nice and supports MMS.
things i love about the touch: i havent used it as much as i'd like but the size is fabulous. feels great in the hand. i ove the "touch" screen and way to go about on the phone.
concerns: Q9h = size. its big.
Touch = text imput. the all touch keypad has me nervous as far as ease of entry.
all those things said, AT&T has more expensive plans with more expensive data...the plan that suits me best is 2000min for $99 plus a $20 data plan once i do the workaround to get the media max 200 applied to the phone, which limits texts to 200, but i have sent exactly 1 text in my life so something tells me that is plenty.
Sprint i can get the SERO 2500 min with unlimited text and data for $99. the additional 500 min plus no data features needed sounds nice. i wonder if my corporate 20% can be applied even with a SERO plan? prolly not.
anyway, there you have it. i live in Nashville and cover the entire state of TN for my sales territory, but spend 99.8% of my time in Nashville, Knoxville, Chatt or the tri cities, so i am not really in the boonies often excpet when in between cities on the interstate.
your guys thoughts. i have read nothing but high praises about the Q9h on phonescoop or anywhere else really. just the size and extra $ has me somewhat concerned. and the Touch has for the most part seen good reviews, but on phonesccop there are a lot of negative reviews about freezing and crashing, however, i have seen very little complaints overall from users about missing the qwerty keypad. i guess it works well?
id like yalls thoughts.
thanks.
