LG CU 575 and Filesystem

Okay. Iam new here, and I searched pretty throgouhly for this thread other places, so please don't be mad if there is a thread dedicated to this that i did not see. So i bought the LG CU575 of the Trax three days ago, and i love it so far. THe only think that I hate is that the message alert tones cannot be changed. There are ten sounds, if you can call them that, that you can pick from. I know all you have to do is go into the filesystem and change some settings, but I don't know how to get to the file system. I tried Bit Pim but it won't establish with my phone. I am doing it via bluetooth. I know it is not the bluetooth also because it says my phone is on COM 7. Please help!
