for u guys that work do u get to select what phone u carry (from att only) or does att make u guys have the lastest phone they r selling so u can recomend it to customers.

you get a company line for free. typically a b lackberry pearl. but it depends.
you can always ask your manager too if want to demo the latest and greatest but its not mandatory

In my market(NY Metro Area) we have two choices, A Blackjack or a BlackBerry Pearl.... Not much to choose between IMO. True you can ask your manager to demo the newest phones but as mentioned already it does depend on the manager.

i think it all depends on your manager. i had people tell me they had to get a blackjack, i got to choose anything of that value or lower. i got a pearl

Technically you can use whatever phone you are willing to buy (except iPhone) with an employee plan.

thought i was getting the curve but got the moto q9h instead

btw several of my co-workers purchased the iphone and use it as their cou.

i use an iphone on my cou

It varries by market. Some markets the reps get 2 COU's, a phone and a data device. Some markets its just a data device. In my market we get 1 COU, it's a Data Device, our choice.

And they get updated every few months. I had the BB Pearl, then the BB Curve 8300, then the BB Curve 8310, now I have a Samsund BJ 2.

When you work in a Call Center you get an "Employee Rate Plan" - NO free phone or anything - Just a free ( but M2M and N&W cost extra, no Rollover) 1000 min and 500 min plan.

It isn't really worth using as a primary plan, as by the time you add the features that COME FREE with customer plans you are basically paying almost as much and its more of a hassle since CS can't help you - you have to go to a website or email people to get changes done to your account.

Have to disagree with you there. With an approximate savings (both ERP lines) of $100/month compared to a similar consumer plan it is well worth it to me.

Many people do. I don't hold it against them though.

Its only ~$100 a month if you choice the bare ERP plans. The second you start adding features that customer's get for free that gap narrows considerably - Its still cheaper than customer plans but with all the additional limitations (especially no access to many features) and headaches with ERP I think it makes up for the lower price.

I don't use a cell phone except in emergencies so I keep the 500 min line anyway, and its great for that.

EDIT: BTW, for Iphone lovers - No Iphone allowed on ERP..HA

It all depends on the market. But, it really depends on your store Manager, Area sales manager and etc.

In my market, if you want to get a phone, you must be approved by your manager and Area sales manager.

We get two COU lines, but I heard they might cut it down to one. I just ordered mine, so I am covered.
