I have a Sony Ericsson phone about 2 years old, how do I ID the model number ?

Is there a code I can tap in which will return the model number ?

If it's only two years old, pressing the volume button (during the stand-by screen) should give you the phone status as well as tell you what model phone you have.

Or it should be able to tell you on the label under the battery.

or u can go to gsmarena.com select sony ericsson and math ur phone with the picture =DD lolz i guess the service menu works too its > * < < * < * service info and model info =D

Just go to the standby screen and press one of the volume keys. It gives General information about phone, Eg. Battery life % , Phone number, Model, etc..
