AT&T Tilt Bluetooth Issue

I use Sony's HBH-DS980 Stereo Bluetooth headset with my AT&T Tilt. Here's my issue:

1. Listening to music via the headset (using Windows Media Player)
2. Incoming call rings through (I hear it on the device first, then it interrupts the music and I hear it through my headphones after the first ring)
3. I take the call using the call button on my headset
4. Call quality is fine (although I find the earpiece volume a little low)
5. I hang up the call using the call button on the headset
6. Music starts playing again, but through the device's speaker (Stereo Bluetooth connection is dropped)
7. I press "Play" on the headset, and this *usually* re-establishes the bluetooth connection (sometimes I need to try this several times)

Anyone else experiencing this issue (with the Sony or any other Stereo Bluetooth headset)? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Please help... Obviously one of the big benefits of Stereo Bluetooth is the ability to listen to music and have it pause when a call comes through. It's quite embarrassing to lose your Bluetooth connection and have Eighties' music blaring through my coat pocket on the bus in the mornings!

Thanks in advance for your help,
TriNeo

it could be that the headset is bluetooth version 1.0 or 1.5 and the tilts bluetooth version is 2.0

i think the best things to do would to use a bluetooth 2.0 headset. i have a blueant z9 and its a bluetooth 2.0 connection and i have noticed a better quality sound and also a better connection and less static when it comes to talking and listening

I got my Tilt last week, and I use the Sony HBH DS970. I can tell you the behavior is different on the Tilt than the 8525...could be a Tilt issue, or possibly a WM6 issue.

For me, on the Tilt: Listen to the audio over BT, call comes in, ringer goes on over the phone (whereas it went to the headset before), then I hear beeps on headset (heard beeps before as well). I answer using headset, audio has paused, once I end call on headset - it takes up to 10 sec's or so, but the audio has been resuming to the headset.

Sound has been fine for me, but the suggestions I've followed in the forums state: turn up full blast on your device system volume (not the phone part), and also full blast on your media player. Then, if it is too loud - you should adjust on the headset. I've also read about some registry hacks to increase BT volume, and I could search for those if you are interested.

It is also embarrassing to have the audio sound route back to the phone when your listening to a book sometimes...

BTW, I believe your 980 should be BT 2.0.

The DS980 is a 2.0 device. I've used it with my Samsung Blackjack and it behaved as it should. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems to be either a Tilt or WM6 issue. Anyone out there have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
