Tilt Question?

I am looking at two new Tilt's on ebay.
(1) Unlocked tilt BNIB.
(2) Unlocked tilt BNIB updated with the original HTC Rom which gets rid of all the annoying AT&T junk, so you get the nice HTC software like the home plugin which you can customize. This what the ad states!
My question is if I purchase the second tilt with the loaded original HTC Rom what if anything do I have to do (besides putting in my sim) for it to work on AT&T which I have a family plan. My contract is up with AT&T and I am not leaving AT&T but I just don't won"t to do another two year contract. I want to leave that option open!
