Some times i when i click on an icon and it loads up then it kicks me out and brings me back to the home screen. Any one know how fix it?

Version 1.1.1(3a1109a)

I would try restoring 1.1.1, but the preferred option is to upgrade to 1.1.2!

Is 1.1.2 stable?

If you are using Summerboard set the ''dim wallpaper'' option to OFF. I had the same think happen when i upgraded to 1.1.1 and someone on HOFO told me to try it.

I disabled that option and I haven't seen the problem ever again!

Oh yeah. 1.1.2 is the best firmware I have ever used. It was a little bit of a process getting it upgraded (depends on who you have unlocked), but it is much quicker and more stable. If you take the plunge, post your results.

I am going to upgrade to 1.1.2 I think these are the steps? Correct me of i am wrong please.

Step 1: Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update
1. Launch Installer.app
2. Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)
3. Select OktoPrep
4. Click Install

Go to General->Mail->Auto-Check. Set it to Manual.

Step 2: Update to 1.1.2

1. Connect your device to your computer
2. Launch iTunes
3. Choose your device

4. Click Update - If update still shows 1.1.1 as being the newest version, you may download the 1.1.2 from an Apple download server and shift-click (PC) or option-click (Mac) on "Check for update" and select the update you downloaded.
- DO NOT CLICK OR SHIFT-CLICK RESTORE: That will wipe the changes OktoPrep made.
I don't quite understand!!!

So i don't have to put in restore mode just click update?

5. Wait forever for your device to update

Those are the accurate steps IF your phone is NOT unlocked. If your phone is unlocked it is just a little more involved.

If you are just trying to jailbreak, then yes - those steps are correct.

The part you said you dont quite understand is just saying make sure and click on update, not restore. Once you have installed OKtoPrep and update your phone to complete the jailbreak you will need conceited softwares 1.1.2 jailbreak package. Just search here on the forums or google it, you will find it no problem. The jailbreak software is ran on your computer, with your iphone connected, once the upgrade is complete.

Again, just to clarify, you are not trying to UNLOCK your phone and your are NOT currently unlocked, correct?

I am not unlocked and not trying (1.1.2 OTB). Is it better to upgrade to 1.1.2? I have been having my iPhone crash alot, forcing me to do a hard reboot, mainly when I'm using a chat client while browsing or something.

The only reason why I haven't updated is because I thought it would be easier for me to unlock my phone whenever an update comes out if I am at 1.1.1. If I upgrade back to 1.1.2 right now, is it easy to go back to 1.1 .1? Or do I have to do everything over again. I just want to avoid ever having to completely restore my phone and losing everything.

The only way to avoid restoring your phone is to NOT MESS WITH IT AT ALL . Anytime you start messing around with unlocking/jailbreaking/upgrading (especially doing all three) there is a very high chance you are going to have to restore. If what you have now works for you, why change it?

Is AshSong the same person as SSSPecialist?

My phone is unlocked with rogers and i 1.1.1 and want to upgrade to 1.1.2? Any one know how to do it?

Read this thread here, that should be everything you need.

Also, search for iClarified, that is a guide a lot of people have had success with. It doesnt always work the first time, so make sure you have a while and be patient.

Because it is a similar topic and I thought they could go together? My sn is clearly different, why would we be the same?

Anyways, the phone is alright, but freezes once in a while like specialist. Which is why I want to upgrade to 1.1.2 since it seems like it's more stable according to dhendrickson.
