I'm in love with the android idea

just wanted to say cheers to google for open source firmware for cellphones. this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. free software for manufacturers will drive down prices and open source means innovation. i can't wait until the first phones are released. not to mention google offered 10 million for the best program for android. hows that for motivation?

i'm counting the days till i can put my iphone on ebay

Well, Google has been the best thing since sliced bread and Android is just another example of their superiority and individuality. I too can't wait to see what Android has in store for us and have the biggest expectations from these guys. And being the great innovators they are, I bet the first device will be pure design bliss, aside from the platform.

Bring it on, Google!

Ready as in the platform being final? That, I have no idea, but Google did say consumers should be getting their first Android-enabled device(s) in the second half of 2008.

Might want to recheck the license for android. Kernel and webkit are the only open source items.

these are the main elements, other stuff will be coded by 3rd parties and they will be free whether to release their codes or not
