HTC TILT Question

Hey all! Just wanted to ask a question. The up button on my Tilt seems to not have much sensitivity when I press it. I have to put some pressure for the button to actually work. Was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or if its just my phone. Just in case you don't know the button I am talking about, heres a picture *sorry for the pic being blurry*:

I have heard of it from another Tilt user or two. I would probably go get it exchanged. My TyTN II doesn't have the issue.

Darn this stinks >.< I bought it on ebay and the phone had no issues for a a couple weeks till today. Gets annoying actually putting pressure on the button instead of just lightly tapping it. Does anyone know if I will still be able to receive warranty for the Tilt from HTC even though I bought it on ebay? Or fix the problem somehow? Thanks in advance.

I doubt they will exchange or repair (for free) a device purchased from Ebay, they usually require proof of purchase. Most manufacturers have a stipulation that you must buy the device from an authorized reseller. If you bought it from an Ebay store, you might try asking them if they'll exchange.

Buying an HTC device from Ebay is a bad idea, they have the absolute worst quality control of any manufacturer i've dealt with. Yea, I know, some people have no issues whatsoever, but there are lots of people that do. I've been through a few and can say that button quality is one area where they fail often. Each one that i've had (Tilt/8525) has had at least one button (usually more) that don't function as well as the others. My last one the call button only registered if you really forced it, present device the U and the Y on the keyboard only work if you press really hard. I'm talking about out of the box, not after a certain period of use. Good luck..

Do you mean the AT&T Tilt or the HTC TyTN II?

I bought my TyTN II from eBay and registered it with HTC. On HTC's web site, it's now showing that my phone is covered under warranty until Jan. 31, 2009 -IF- I fail to provide proof of purchase.

If you actually got the AT&T Tilt, you should be able to find support through AT&T rather than HTC; If it's a TyTN II, I suggest that you register with HTC as soon as possible (all they need is the serial number).

Sorry I meant the Tilt. Hmm I think i'll try to call AT&T and see if I would be able to get a fix or replacement from them. Just hoping I will be able to since I bought it on ebay but I will give it a try. Thanks for the replies btw! =D

Hmm I tried to call AT&T but since I have an unlocked Tilt and using T-Mobile I don't think they would actually be able to help me >.<. Anyone having this problem and able to fix it? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can help me out with this problem. Thanks in advance!
