i got problems like that at times, using multiple phones over wm5/6 and cooked roms and a bunch of different variables too, so there's no clean answer as some work sometimes and some will always work and then blah blah blah...let's just say nothing makes sense.

update your windows mobile device center and good luck

Syncing with Vista: settings/connections/usb to pc/ then uncheck the enable advanced network functionality. Should work now

moble device center still doesnt see it

Try disabling the Windows Firewall (at least temporarily, as a test) as well. My Tilt would sync without a problem for the first few weeks, then it suddenly stopped. I finally realized that the Tilt stopped syncing on the same day that I had enabled the Windows Firewall while on a public network. Once I disabled it, I was able to sync again without a problem.

I had this issue with my DUO on Vista, now that I have my Tilt, it connected fine as well. -

You have to update Windows Mobile Device center to 6.1 in order to support WM6 devices.

Download here and install the "drvupdate-x86.msi" from here:

32 bit - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en

64 bit -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en

So you installed the drvupdate.msi file that I sent in the previous post?

Your version may already be 6.1 without installing that. Download and install it if you haven't already.

sounds like you need to uninstall the driver for your device and then re-connect it.
It may be hidden so you may have to follow the steps here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539
i dont know if it will work with vista... but its nothing that will cause harm to your computer.

I have the exact same problem with my Excalibur... The phone displays the connected icon in the status display, device manager in Vista showns "Smartphone USB Sync" device under "Portable Devices", but WMDC 6.1 says "not connected"... Have tried unistalling and reinstalling the drivers multiple times, to no avail...

I've just about had it with Vista and its crap!!! You'd think Windows Mobile, Vista, & Office being all M$ software, they're sync together no problem out of the box... But noooooo...

Well, now I understand why M$ is losing money... Their software isn't even worth pirating, let alone paying for...

Amen, brother! I've had many of the same problems with my Tilt. Vista has been giving me the blue finger of death many times a day lately. How does a company make such c#$p and stay in business?

make sure you are not useing a usb hub. my tytn2 had the same problem until i used one of the laptop ports.
