Blackjack WM6 Upgrade = Relocked?

I'm sorry if this has already been answered. Searched around but couldn't find this covered.

I was wondering, if you upgrade to WM6, does your Blackjack somehow go back into a "locked" state? Or will it remain unlocked if you've previously unlocked it?

Thanks in advance.

If by "unlocked", you mean SIM unlocked. The answer is no, it will not relock your phone to AT&T.

But the unofficial versions will application lock the unit. The place where you got the unofficial ROM probably also has an app unlock download you can use.

Actually you guys are wrong. The phone remains SIM unlocked, as mine is from when I first bought it from AT&T with WM5 on it, cause that's when I unlocked it, and it's carried through to the most recent WM6. Just tested it now to be sure.

Microsoft has a nice explanation of the different kinds of locking:

http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile...-by-locked.aspx

Using the terminology of the article, if you apply the latest unofficial WM6 updates to your BlackJack, your SIM lock status will not change. It if it locked, it will stay locked. If it is unlocked, it will stay unlocked. Your BlackJack *will* be Application Locked after you apply the latest unofficial WM6 updates.

Ok, missed that. Double negative sort of evaded me.
