Smashed iPhone Screen repair success!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Just wanted to post here to let anyone who may be intersted know that it is quite difficult but completely possible to repair a smashed iPhone screen.

My friend dropped his in the middle of a very busy road and many cars ran it over. The screen was completely smashed into bits..

I told him to buy an LCD + digitizer assembly off eBay and I would try fixing it for him, which i did! Works like a charm.

Time: about 3 hours, the most tedious part is RE-Connecting the 4 connectors back to the motherboard.. took ALOT of patience..

I posted some pics i took with my iPhone so excuse the low light and bluriness.

Thanks!

after having mine apart I know why they make these things in china...my big north american hands makes working on those small components damn hard!

The iPhone was in this leather case:
ruined case
the back was protected thankfully

did you replace the back cover cuz that thing is mangled?

Gotta hand it to you..thats amazing.
I dont have that kind of patience.

Now put out an add and do it on your spare time. Im sure there is\will be quite a few people out there that break their screen somehow. It could bring in some good money

Wow, Glad it worked out for you. Do you have the part #'s for the parts you ordered or at least the digitizer. Never know when you'll need it

If you can fix the screen iphone, why not fix the missing key on your keyboard :P

the pictures show the back cover is bent up like a mofo...either from you taking it apart or cars running over it...it might not be scratched up but its for sure bent up

wow after having a few cars run over it, i'm surprised all you had to replace was the screen
