upgraded to 1.1.2 less app space?

I upgraded to 1.1.2 and constantly get a message saying that I'm low in space and should delete pictures to continue. I dont have nearly as many things installed as I had with 1.0.2 and have no pictures on the phone, and no music right now. In fact it reports 7.2 gb available. When this occurs all apps become unstable and constantly crash. I've deleted a lot of apps and the phone runs great. What can I do to repartion more space for apps? Thanks!

I would restore the iPhone.
